Everyone seems to be jumping ship and giving their reason why, so I thought I'd give my reason why I'm not quitting.
The answer is simply the character creation/ job freedom.
Right now I have level 18 thm and con.
I have always loved casters in most games and those were the first classes i ran to, not only because i love casters, but because casters can usually do decently even with terrible equipment.
So after they were both about 16 i decided to play around with some other classes for defense boosts. I got Glad to 4 for it's skill, and MAR to 10 for it's.
What did i learn? caster skills work well on DOW, which is something i never expected! It was actually great fun picking and choosing out of all of my spells which ones i would take along to try out.
When i party (as thm or con) with a pug, i sometimes bring concussive blow (lvl 2 PUG WS) to help them add on the cuncussions, why? because it hits FAR more often than i thought, i can use it from range, and it WORKS!
So, now that i have Absorb ACC, absorb ATT, Absorb DEF, Absorb evasion; I think i will go try leveling archer and have fun doing that too.
Unlike most, im not to interested in getting to cap in a month, I'm have far to much fun playing around with freedom that the class system provides.
Do i hate the SP system? yup, you betcha. I hate nothing more than fighting a mob and barely surviving only to revieve little to no SP (sometimes), but I just see that as an offshoot for the times when i get WAY more than i expected from a weak monster.
There are other things I like but I'l just leave it at that for now...
