This isnt XI. Dont like it then go back to XI and get the Abyssea Add-ons... There are a few things I personally miss from XI like the auction house, but its a different game. Get used to it.

Right.. and this is not [Insert Good Computer Game Here], so any good idea that should be ported over need to be ignored.

great logic :)

I think the mistake most people make when comparing it to XI is that they might forget the game had already been out a year and a half and had an expansion when it released in NA. Then again, that doesn't change XIV's city layouts or zones full of copypasta, which are far inferior to XI's.

You are right, it isn't XI. But it might as well be its little brother (the two games have, and lets be honest, the same copy pasted races, plus 3 starting citys which are eerily similar in many ways) which will inevitably beg comparison.

I would bet that a very large number of former FFXI players may do exactly what you are suggesting, go back to the polished, by comparison gem, that is XI. I like the thrill of new adventures as much as the next guy; however I refuse to put up with a company expecting that I will "Get used to it" and deal with major faults while I fork out the price of a box and subscription when I am not convinced they are motivated to do anything at all to deal with the mire they have created.

(edited for grammar)

I agree, comparing this horrible hashed out game to FFXI is like comparing a lump of crap thrown at the wall to a fine painting, considering the monthly fees and the cost of the initial game it's even stranger people would pay for this when there are so many other better options. Pretty graphics >all for many people I guess. FFXI was never anything like XIV, even at release in Japan.

See I think the mistake people are making is that its ok for a release of a game in 2010 to look like the release of a game from 2002
