Completely anecdotal, but in my experience whenever a mob blinds me I stop missing until the blind wears off, then its back to whiff whiff whiff... anyone else experience this?

The hit table needs to be tweaked. It feels so blindly (no pun intended) random, even with accuracy gear and a big level spread between you and the mob, in your favor. Or maybe it's a Marauder thing? But I certainly miss like an armless blind man in a slap fight.

And yes, sometimes I could swear my accuracy actually improves when I'm under Blind/Glare(Flash).

I half suspect accuracy simply isn't working, it feels like the higher level I get the more I miss, with accuracy/dex having no effect on improving it, neither does blind (to me). In nay case whether its working or not, its not doing so very well and I really hope it gets fixed. Three things that hurt this games fun most for me

1) Disorganization. retainers, inventory, etc. Makes my head hurt and not want to have anything to do with it.

2) Skill points, random progression is bad, its hard to figure out whats good to fight or not when the value of any given enemy is...totally random.

3) Combat accuracy. I feel like every fight is a hope that the rng decides to work in my favor, I frequently have to flee because I simply cant hit the enemy enough to kill it despite having up to date weapon rings massive dex etc.

Also I notice magic which cant be evaded, hits FAR more often but radiance (conjurer tp attack) which can be evaded falls in same category as my melee classes...pitiful accuracy. The largest problem seems to be enemy evade is off the charts.

Hang on, hang on. Seriously? You think a company could miss something that obvious? You really think a company like-- Oh. SE makes this game? Nothing to see here. Move along.

I find the Dodo's Rancid Belch Blind to be effective.

However the lightning bugs Glare blinding move to increase my accuracy LOL...

Funny you make this statement. Last week I was doing some leves with my LS and we did a cactuar one.
Everyone talking about 1000 Needles and we were like oh its no biggie we have 4 guys we will only take 250 dmg...

Everyone knows that in every FF the 1k Needle is divided by number of party member right....
Not in XIV... everyone gets hit with 1000 dmg.... wiped the entire group LOL

Fun times :) im not complaining I love the game just funny that you would think SE wouldnt mess up on something THEY created. A rule that they put together, and yet in this installment it is neglected.

Blind-Fight [General]

Benefit
In melee, every time you miss because of concealment, you can reroll your miss chance percentile roll one time to see if you actually hit.
An invisible attacker gets no advantages related to hitting you in melee. That is, you don’t lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class, and the attacker doesn’t get the usual +2 bonus for being invisible. The invisible attacker’s bonuses do still apply for ranged attacks, however.
You take only half the usual penalty to speed for being unable to see. Darkness and poor visibility in general reduces your speed to three-quarters normal, instead of one-half.
Normal
Regular attack roll modifiers for invisible attackers trying to hit you apply, and you lose your Dexterity bonus to AC. The speed reduction for darkness and poor visibility also applies.
Special
The Blind-Fight feat is of no use against a character who is the subject of a blink spell.
A fighter may select Blind-Fight as one of his fighter bonus feats.

You pick up this when you "rolled"? Smiley: lol

In all seriousness though, I have noticed this with Fireflies. Odd glitch, but a welcome one in my book...those buggers are evasive

I'm sorry, but that's not correct. In most FFs it hits for 1k. In some FF's there is also the big brother 10,000 Needles used by Jumbo Cactuar. Its only FFXI that the damage is divided. Not a big deal even, just being a FF nerd.

*ducks out of thread*

In beta or maybe it was still alpha, Posion used to have a chance of healing you instead of killing you...so yes it's very possible that's what is happening with blind. Wonder if there are any other debuffs that do the reverse...

I, too, have had similar experiences with the blind status effect. I feel wrong for getting excited when a mob puts blind on me, but it can't be helped as my hit rate becomes nearly 100%.

In every FF? I can't say about FF XI because I skipped that one... but I've played every other FF to date and that's not been the case that I can ever recall.

In fact everyone knows the first appearance of Cactaur was FF VI and that did 10,000 damage.

Glowfly uses Glare on you. You are blinded.
You attack Glowfly for 68 slashing damage.

later that night...
