I just want to know what everyone's strategy is?

For example, I am wanting to play Archer however I don't want to be gimped whilst I'm doing this.

So I am trying to level all the classes that i think I will need, however this seems to be taking a lot of time.

I just want to know what everyone's strategy is, if they are following my strategy or if they have another way of doing things?

Would like a good discussion about this, as when I am done with the craft leve's I find it hard to level up as getting lightning crystals is such a pain.

So far I've only leveled other jobs to get specific abilities I know will help with my main job (PUG). I duo a lot with a THM and the leves we do tend to have multiple mobs to fight so I leveled GLA for provoke and MRD for defender. They're both moderately useful but not having them wouldn't really gimp my performance. I'd have to tell you not to worry about it as the game is so new that no one really knows what gimp/great really are yet. ^^

I am just going to play the game, no strategy at all. No really interested in being Level 99 whatever. If I make then I make it. Do not care to get 10,000,000 in Gil either. Not like I can do anything with it outside the game. If I make some friends along the away as I play, cool.

As for the crystals/shards, I have found mining and Botany was been the best to obtain them. Just look up on the DB where to find them and have at it.

Oh, and I am doing Archer as well, just wish more vendors carried Bronze arrows than the one in Grindania.

When you level up, make sure you allot points to "Lightning". It will increase your drops dramatically.

My strategy is to craft until I can make all my own things and sell what I make. Because a lot of mats come from drops and because leveling as a disciple of land involves meeting some difficult baddies, I'm also ranking pretty high as a marauder.

I'm not really interested in doing all the Disciplines of War or Magic though.

I am working on Gladiator, Miner and the 3 big crafts that use mining Goldsmith, Armorer, Blacksmith. When I hit fatigue on Glad I go to Pug for self heal and good evasion tank skills. Now only if partying was useful id use my shield for good.

Does putting your point allotment on certain elements work for making them more drop-able?
