Maximum number of crystals and shards possessed (Oct. 12)

Currently, each player character or each retainer is allowed to possess up to 999 crystals and 999 shards.
If you obtain crystals or shards when you already have 999 of them, the surplus amounts cannot be obtained and will be discarded, as in the following cases.

·Obtain a new crystal or shard from the loot list.
·Trade with a retainer
·Trade with another player character or in a bazaar.
·Reset a bazaar
*Crystals and shards put in a bazaar will not be counted as possessed.

We are currently reviewing this design. New updates will follow as additional information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding.

Easiest to just bazaar them for billions of gil, if you have bazaar space.

Good to see they're adding this. It was getting annoying that whenever I wanted to buy a large quantity of shards I'd have to scamper off to my retainer and make a deposit first before I could carry any more of them... Usually by the time I got back, the seller had moved or had already sold out.

I think the part they are addressing is when you have 999 shards and say accidently try to retrieve another 500 from your retainer, that 500 is just thrown away with no warning. I have no real issue with the current setup, except it just throwing your shards away without warning.

Seriously? This is what they're dedicating their time to right now? They couldn't find anything else to work on of higher importance?

So you don't think in way way that they may have multiple teams of developers all focused on different areas of the game?

I'll give you a hint, most larger companies do... And they've already said in a few interviews that different teams are working on different things

Just because they notified the community of this issue doesn't mean it is their priority over more urgen fixes. It just means they realize that the poor UI is at fault for this matter and until it is fixed to be please be aware so you don't lose your shards. AKA: "Don't send any more bug reports regarding this we're aware of the issue and plan on fixing it (eventually)."

Sage Sundi did say in that recent interview the #1 complaint is the UI and if they're making that their number 1 priority, chances are this crystal fix will be lumped in that as it is related to the UI.
