So simple question:

What is the "damage cut" stat refering to on items in the game? I assume it is either your own damage being lowered by that much of that type; or that it means incoming damage of that type is reduced by that amount. Does anyone know which?

Well, not trying to sound like a D!ck or anything, but since its only on armor, it probably means it gives you a reduction of damage taken of that type.

Some games weaken your own physical or magical abilities based on how much the armor encumbers your character. Ultima online did it with magic way back when. D&DO did it with heavier armors etc. So it's still a legitimate question.

Since it directly says Damage Cut, and has a % of each type, its pretty safe to assume it means it reduces that type of incoming damage.

Solid plate has a substantial amount more slashing reduction than blunt on it for example, which is concurrent with real life armor.

Thanks; that clears that up. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't hurting my Conjurers casting with my armor.
