There has been a ton of complaining on this site since the game came out, but not a lot of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism...I thought it would be good for people to rank the issues that they would like fixed FIRST, and what is just a minor annoyance that you can live with....

I'll Start (1 being the highest priority)

1. UI lag is horrible
2. Market is too difficult to use
3. Chat is hard to use
4. Inventory organization improvements (sorting / extra bags)
5. Make macros easier to implement
6. Make it easier to equip / unequip gear (right click unequip maybe?)
7. Fighting lag is bad (I know if an attack hits or misses before the animation)

Hopefully SE will read this and will help them to prioritize how they fix this potentially awesome game.

2 sort inv
3 fix equipping menu
4 ui lag
5 AH/"searchable retainers", whatever you want to call it. i want to talk to 1 NPC and see whats what, and preferably buy it there.

1. Lack of a central point to buy items (Be it searchable retainers, Auction House, what have you)
2. An F8 key for targeting the nearest monster and F1-F7 keys for targeting some party members.
3. UI Lag/Slow interface
4. Keeping ability sets saved for particular classes.
5. Having the chat buffer hold more characters.
6. More side-quests to pass time between storyline.
7. Taking advantage of all the empty spots in all the zones.
8. Lowering the level for the random dungeons scattered throughout the starter zones to make for more efficient grinding.
9. Having the ability to actually target stuff as well instead of having to open the menu. (Aetheryte, etc).

1. Usable market
2. UI Lag
3. Quests, missions, anything that's not a leve.
4. Auto-attack, no auto-attack is killing the social part of the game. It is too difficult to chat while fighting because there are no significant breaks in the button mashing. This is an MMO, you have to make provisions for people to talk to each other or it just doesn't work.
5. Character limit in chat. Keep it for shouts, say. Drop it for Linkshell, maybe increase it for tell.

There are workarounds for the rest (you can macro ability swaps for example), they can be fixed later.

I haven't played for days due to 1 and 2. I just can't be bothered to look for gear for hours.

UI first. No doubt. And here is why:

Given all the other technical problems in FFXIV, a lame UI amplifies all of them. Market wards would be a little more bearable if there wasn't input and display delay, crafting a little more bearable, NPC engagement, combat, inventory management, trading, text input and so on.

One might even say the UI is the way we, the users, interface with the game.

If SE fixes this, then they can have my $13 for a month at least.

For me most of it is combat based since that's what I really like to do.

Targeting
The 0HP/0MP party bug
I feel like I've been killing marmots forever, more diversity or even instance runs where there is a clear direction for finding and killing mobs
Skill ups need to be more consistent and apparent
UI lag, specifically selling items
Auction House

I played FFXI for 6 years, I really really really want to love this game but I just feel logging in has no purpose at this point, it's not a lot of fun. Truth be told I just want to log in and kill things, I'm ok with it taking a while to level but it kills me having it take so long to level and never being able to find mobs, there is just too much open space with nothing in it to kill.

Can I request some kind of ocular filter that turns the word 'toon' into the word character wherever it turns up; be it in game, on forum, or even those Chinese letter tattoos that are so hip?

I'd love it if they would say, make your damaged gear show up in your inventory as Red or something. Having to click through all my **** underwear to find the right thing that's damaged is hella annoying.

This. In general, there needs to be a quick (not 17 layers of menus) way to filter as well as sort inventory. It'd be nice to sort all your inventory according to wear (most worn at the top). A good inventory UI would provide a list with user choosable fields (name, rank, slot type (head, body, etc, craft material type), wear, etc) with a "click on column header" to sort. Basic UI design.

1. This.
2. This.

As annoying as anything else is in this game, for those of us who care to stick it out and trudge through it, there is nothing more obnoxious then having time in between clicks to continously have to think about why I'm so angry with this game.

1) UI intuitiveness - Reducing screens necessary to perform a single task, adding additional information to current windows (like showing how damaged your gear is without needing to click on it twice), keyboard shortcuts to inventory/gear/action menus, extra ways to cycle through targets (only mobs, only players, only party members), etc.
2) UI lag - It's a little better but still extremely noticeable, particularly with crafting.

Everything will get better when you improve these two, because the UI is how you access everything in the game.

3) Ward search and/or revamp, possible AH system (though I doubt SE would want to go down that route based on how much effort they're putting into trying to get the ward system to catch on in popularity.
4) Mail system
5) Inventory sort

These 4 would be enough for me to pay a subscription fee. Now, based on their likeliness to be added by SE:

1) Inventory sort
2) Ward revamp (sorting wards into item types, probably not a search feature)
3) Mail system
4) UI lag
5) UI intuitiveness - This one is so low on the list I have severe doubts that this will ever be addressed. I welcome SE to prove me wrong, but I just don't see this one happening.
