How much is anima worth to you?Follow

Like numerous other players, the value of anima was not truly apparent to me the first few days of playing. Often blowing 36+ per day initially. It wasn't until I ran out and stayed dry since did I understand this was not a resource to be squandered.
These days I'm stuck in some far off camp in Coerthas with an hour+ walk to get back to my hometown for repairs; makes me regret never having enough anima for more than 1 warp back per day pretty much.
Which leads me to wonder, how much would you sell your anima for?
At this point in time, I would not sell a teleport for 50K (unless I was already going there.)

Wish anima was rewarded from Guildleves, then maybe I'd start doing them again.

I was out at La Noscea when someone shouted for a tele to Gridania for 40k. Since I was out of arrows, I scooped that gil up in two shakes and headed home. Course, I'm pretty much always flush. I walk, cause if I go under 85 I start panicking or something.

You could potentially create a new character with a fresh set of anima, spend the hour to run through all the major cities tuning their crystals, and make mad money as a teletaxi.

Am anima starved a lot recently - went on a group outing with new LS members and squandered my anima teleporting myself and them instead of the long trek, what made it worse was having to teleport back to pickup one whose teleport didn't work and then back again.

Took a one way ticket to LL from Gridania today to join a leve and had to make the long trek home on foot.

Am also learning tricks to save on anima as well... like not synching to a crystal after a teleport and then getting myself killed so I end up back where I started (warning, this only works in zones, not between zones - it'll return you to the zone starting camp if you die after an inter-zone teleport without synching).

Trying to build it back now, but usually use it when in a hurry/lazy.
Actually, I also use it to teleport to a far away camp for leve hand in that would otherwise result in possible death if I went on foot (i.e. camp crimson bark in Black Shroud).

edit: note relating to inter zone needs verifying...

How would you get the money to your main character? I guess you could give it to someone you know and have them trade.

You set your mains retainer with an item for the ammount of gil your alt has... and you make sure that retainer is in an easy spot to find in an empty ward.

Put an item on your retainer's bazaar overpriced at the amount of gil to be transferred, and have the telemule buy it.

I've never been below 80 anima...I guess I will always have that XI old skool mentality of getting around. We didn't have it in XI to start out with and we managed...it was part of game. To earn your way around...from getting chocos...to getting airship pass. Accomplishments...part of the game. Having anima will dilute those accomplishments in XIV. I see the whole "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" saying written all over the opportunity of having anima.

(and yes...I know part of the reason they gave anima was because of leves being pretty far from the cities)

but still...once we have other modes of transportation...I don't see anima being that much of an issue. I really doubt they will give more or shorten the regen time.

That's funny

I play 2-3 times a week so I hover around 70 or so anima. But man some days i can use 20-30 anima easy.
Others if i am just gathering i warp out far and gather as I walk back to town. usually make 50-100k and then
repair pick up leve's and then walk to the corresponding camps. Its been fun ^^

But I can imagine if you have to port farther a few times how fast the stuff can go. Watch within a few months
anima will be like oil and people paying upwards to 100k a port. Than again gil is way easier to get than it was in XI
making it worth less so we'll see how all that works out
#11xthunderblazex, Posted: Oct 14 2010 at 11:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I always paid 5k for teleports, never a dime more.

When I first started... I was using teleport left and right. After, it becomes very valuable to me. So even if it's going from Gridania to LL, I'd run just to save it. Unless emergency... I won't use it.

I just laugh when I see idiots spamming, "Looking for a port to (insert city name here) Reward 2k" I promptly send them either a shout or a tell saying" Teleport, do you need it? 20k"

Noone ever responds :P to me my anima is worth at least that much, if not more

On the few times I do teleport I do shout and ask if anyone wants a ride but never had an answer. (I'll never charge if I'm going anyway.) Maybe that will change as time goes on.

My Anima is fairly valuable to me as I have limited play time. As much as I enjoy some of the scenery and occasionally riding the Ferry from and to Limsa Lominsa (and fishing while at it) When I just want to get a few Leves done with friends in other cities, and in a hurry, I use my Anima.

If someone wanted to pay me for a teleport, they're going to have to pay me more than 2K. That price was back in FF11 when MP only cost you a quick trip back into your Mog House. But since Anima is only regained slowly over a period of time, I'm going to need a bigger incentive to use up my precious resource.

Same here. I wonder if /sh has a limited range (like how they modified it to in FFXI). No one seems to want a free ride :(

Non-issue as I only get to play 3-4 days a week. But I'm kinda OCD like Pikko in that I get nervous if it drops below 80 >< I could see how Anima could go fast though and I could see a nice tele-taxi market developing in XIV. Back in the early days of XI, shortly after NA release, I played a WHM and spent countless hours as a tele-taxi.
