Is there any advantage to HQ armor and weapons?Follow

I haven't noticed any improvement in stats between NQ and HQ items. What does a +1 next to a name mean, other than not being able to equip it with a macro?

That's odd, I could've sworn that there is a slight stat increase or something increase but would have to check. As for equipping, leave the +x out and have only one in your bag and it'll be fine. (Not the best solution I know, but you can equip +x's)

Ive seen where the + stuff has increased max durability numbers....all Ive noticed lol.

A normal weapon may be 32000/32000 durability whereas a +1 might be 45000/45000 for example.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know about to make the macro work. That is certainly different from FFXI. While I'd rather see a boost to stats, increased durability means repairing less often, which is a good thing, too.

I make Cotton robes and cotton robe related accessories.

Cotton Robe + 2 gives 4 more defense than Cotton Robe +0. It is not listed in the stats, but if you look at your Attributes & Gear page, it will give you a higher increase than normal goods.

Ive also noticed that +1 items not only have higher dura stats but they also degrade at a lower rate than the normal items.

HQ items take a higher skill to repair as well.

I have a Harpoon +1 and all the stats have a star next to them. I haven't checked stats vs the normal one, but I'd assume that star is good for something. Maybe a wildcard increase to each stat?

The stars just indicate which stats are improved. For some reason they hid the actual level of improvement. Maybe to avoid extreme pricing discrepancies?

I believe a +1 is a 10% stat boost. +2 15%, and so on.

This is pretty much it in addition to some durability increase. While the numbers are not listed on the item, you will see a larger stat increase once the item is equipped.

HQ items increase the max durability and the stats to some point. On This Thread is some discussion about the amount of bonus on stats you get. Currently it is estimated to be aroun 5%-6% per level of HQ. Not 100% confirmed though. And while this small amount may not be worth it all that much on accessories and the like when we get to armours and weapons with 100+ stats the bonus 5 - 15 points could be useful.
