I just installed FFXIV and right off the bat it doesn't start. Here is the error report I got from it. Can anyone determine what my issue is?

Windows XP Intel Pentium D 3.4Ghz, 2.0 GB RAM, ATI RADAEON 512MB X1950

Hi-

Your video card is a little below the minimum for this game.

The minimum requirements for the game state a Radeon HD 2900 512 card as bare minimum. If you aren't using the ATI drivers later than 10.2, upgrade to a driver set above 10.2 and try the game again. If you already have a newer version of the ATI driver over 10.x, try re-installing DirectX 9.0c over your existing driver set.

I see you have the Pentium D chip. Is this Dual core version? the 930/950? LGA775? You will need at least 2 cores or 1 core with Hyper-Threading. I don't think the D series had support for HT unless it was the Extreme Edition.

For this game to run on WinXp, you must have Service Pack 3 (SP3) for the .Net framework support. You also have to run the game as Administrator.

Is your video card the PCIe version or the AGP version? If you have the PCIe version, and I hope you do, you can easily upgrade to a better video card to run the game. The 1950 was on par/equal to the old Nvidia 7900 series cards. I have 2 of the Nvidia 7xxx cards and neither will run the game or the benchmark.

Upgrade to the latest ATI driver and re-install DirectX 9.0c
Update / Upgrade XP to SP3 and get all updates and run game as Administrator.

If the software upgrades/ updates don't work, you'll have to get a new video card; I would suggest one anyway.

I suspect that the cause of your problem is your video card is too weak.

Alright. I'm running dual cores on Windows XP Service Pack 3 with Directx 9.0c working properly. I just bought and installed Radeon HD 5700 with updated drivers and I'm having the same problem.

What's interesting is that I couldn't run the benchmark before. Now, I got a score of 1375. I'm currently uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that help.s

Might be completely unrelated but you should make sure PhyX is installed. Quite a few of the games seems to not install it recently.

I already have it as part of my drivers, but for ATI you need to install it seperately. It should be on the game DVD, might want to give it a try.
