My wife uses her arrow keys next to the number pad for movement instead of wasd. we see the config then keyboard config in our options menu. We cant for the life of us figure out how to change the keybindings though, any help would be great.Thank you

I know that not all controls are re-'bindable', and also that SE announced most of them will be in the semi-short term.
In order to bind what you can at this point, go to the appropriate menu, click on key it is currently bound to, and then press the new key you want it set to. Hope that helps ;)

in game go to menu - Config - keyboard settings and hit the Defaults button, this should reset it to the original settings

S.E have said in the future updates that we will be able to re-map all our key bindings but until the update comes.
I use this program which lets me easily re-map the arrow keys so i can move my character with just my right hand like in FFXI.

So the arrow keys become the jkl and i buttons for the camera. The only problem is you can not use the arrow keys to scroll around the in game menus but you can use the mouse for this.

Here is the link works on all win. http://download.cnet.com/MapKeyboard/3000-2094_4-10623201.html

Hope it helps a bit.

I would recommend replacing the number pad 5 key for the down button, I too normally use the arrow keys an had to get used to the number pad. It works just as well (once you get used to it) But i did find that swapping 2 for 5 helped alot.

The arrow keys are currently unable to be bound to anything else, SE said in the future that will change. Until then you could try a game pad.

I'm a keyboard user since FFXI. But it seems like FFXIV are configure to be best playing on "gamepad". I never really like the idea of having both gamepad + keyboard in front of you but this time I'm gonna change my mind. Playing FFXIV with a gamepad = best thing ever.
