FFXIV Constant Crashing! [No fix found on forum for me :( !]Follow

#1 Oct 17 2010 at 2:02 PM Rating: Decent
Hey guys, I keep running into the same issue, over and over again:

I log in and as I hit play, the game crashes and says:
Windows finds an issue with the game and stops running it.

About twice out of the 100 times I have tried running the game, it manages to get me to the Square Enix Logo (all distorted) but as I hit play on the main FFXIV screen, it crashes once again.
I have downloaded all the most current drivers for my computer, service pack, etc etc, and have yet to overcome this obstacle. I will provide everyone with my laptop specs along with a snippet of the event viewer:

Things I Have Tried To Remedy This:

Run Game at Lowest Settings
Run as Adminstrator
Assure No other program (i.e : anti-virus) is running at the same time
Re-installed FFXIV (even did a factory reset to laptop twice)
- Upon each reboot, downloaded service pack2, all window updates, updated Intel Graphic Driver, Updated DirectX
Installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Express

I have scavenged these forums and found very similar issues with other people, but all those remedies are the things I have noted above and tried, or have different Computer makes/processor/graphic card than I Do.
If anyone can please advise me on how to overcome this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Your problem is that you're trying to run an extremely demanding game on a crappy old laptop. You've got a bottom-of-the-barrel processor for the job, but more importantly, integrated mobile graphics. Since it's a laptop, you'll never be able to upgrade the GPU, so in turn, you can never play FFXIV on that computer.

Probably the same reason most people are having crashes as well.
1. I wouldnt ever recommend running powerful games on a laptop. Really not worth it.
2. Reall do need something powerful to run FFXIV well, I just brought one **** of a graphics card and i still need to boost the processor.... which i might do one day or see how I go till PS3.

You can run high end games on a laptop if you know what you're doing when you're shopping. You can spend a lot of money on a laptop that can't play games for ****. My laptop runs the game fairly well, runs any other current gen game very well on high settings.

I play on a laptop aswell.
There are plenty of laptops which can play this game from low to high settings just as there are many that will not play it at all that may even be more costly.
You just have to know what to look for that's all.

Unfortunately for the OP, your laptop falls into the later category of not gonna work.
It's either time for a new laptop or upgrade/buy a new desktop. Sorry.
