No AH or Search? - Let's fix this ourselvesFollow

While the classification of market wards into departments can help, it is still a far cry from what everyone wants. While SE is working on a search function, we don't have it yet and the jury is out on how effective it will be.

What can we do? Own the issue ourselves.

I encourage EVERYONE to use the bazaar manager feature on yg.com. It's easy to setup. What you need to do as a seller is keep things up to date - name of retainer, what you're selling, the ward, online or offline. Then as a buyer, just go to yg.com and check the item you are looking for and go buy from the person listing the goods in the correct area.

I've done this a couple of times. Even finding the retainer in the lagfest of the big wards was not a problem. In and out in 2 mins.

USE the system to advertise your wares. USE the system to shop. Problem fixed.

this is definatley usefull.

however, SE is making a search function in either the november or december patch, so soon things like this won't be needed.or maybe it will still be used, who knows.

i wonder if it would be possible to make a FFXIV AH site when the new search comes out.

i agree its a step towards fixing the problem but definitely not good enough when its not linked to the server, 8 out of 10 times when i see something on yg and go check the retainer the item is already sold :(

I'm not paying Square-Enix so I can fix the problem, that's their job. I shouldn't need to go to a 3rd party site to make buying/selling easier. If they don't have a satisfactory solution in place once my trial period is over , I'll gladly give my hard earned money to another MMO.

This^ is spot on, and my sentiments exactly.

Awesome, so to save some crybabies a few minutes of shouting and browsing everyone else should update multiple sites which will one day stop being so well maintained and be allowed to propagate all types of internet nasties!

I think I'll pass.

Is there a site which uses a bot to automatically scan everyone's retainer and posts that data to the website?

To be effective, we should focus on one site. I proposed yg.com because it seems to work well.

This will only be as good as those who use it and maintain their postings. The two times I've used it have worked well. Treat it like you would if you were selling something in RL. Advertise, keep the information accurate and current, profit!

None of the sites I've seen do this automatically. Perhaps that would be the best solution SE could provide. Implement a simple search feature but spend the time on an API (provided to premier sites) to support their own comprehensive bazaar management capability.
