Recorded this after finishing up my crafting leve's: FFXIV - A Time Lapse Epic from Gridania to Limsa Lominsa

The Journey starts at the Aertheryte of Gridania which lies in the far east of Aldenard, and loops briefly to the city of Ul'dah before heading west over Thanaland to Limsa Lominsa and finishing with a bow at Camp Bearded Rock.

The journey took 54 minutes in real time, and in Eorzea was started at 6:34am, finishing at 1:46am the next day - a 19 hour, 12 minute journey on foot and boat, which makes this continent of Aldenard rather small!

This walk follows the major road that winds between the three starting cities, and if you stick to it with minor diversions from the nastier monsters you can make this journey even as a Level 1 character, though if you do that, I recommend you stop off at the many camps and tag the Aertherytes as you go.

This video whilst showing you some of the vast world, really does not do justice to the scale of things within Final Fantasy XIV, and doesn't cover some of the other spectacular regions.

"Answers" is the track used as the background music - composed for Final Fantasy XIV by Nobuo Uematsu and the lead vocals provided by Susan Calloway.

That was fun to watch actually. I like that track as well. Nicely done.

Thanks for making this! I was just thinking the other day it would be cool to see a video that floated through the scenery. Though a trip without the HUD and in first person may do more justice to the scenery itself.

Awesome nonetheless though, very awesome.

One thing I kept thinking when watching this was 'Geez, i wish I could really move that quickly in the game."

Once Ishgard opens up it'll open another portal for people to trade/buy/sell/chill there. You should make another one starting from Ishgard to LL hehe :)
Check out my awesome adventure at . If you don't know about Fantaji then you're missing out!

Musing doing a few time lapse videos of just standing in a remote location and letting the day-night cycle pass, probably pretty awesome to watch in motion. Might try a trip to Mor Dhona, though I hear its a dangerous place for a novice to wander alone!

Indeed, it does feel alittle lonely out there if you stick to the main road, or even wander off, but the few that you will encounter tend to kick my characters ***, I've died before on that journey due to ants in Thanaland after you leave the first canyon on the road, or in Coerthas via Antelope snot! :D

When Square add Infamous Monsters and up the Monster count in general I dare say that journey will be more perilous, but part of me likes the lonely world feel, I've travelled alot in "real life", and you really do get a sense of adventure when you're in amazing scenery with very few things visably lurking.

In many respects whilst I look forward to airships, chocobos etc, its alot of fun doing the longer journeys on foot, feels more of an accomplishment, though that could stem from my many hours of playing Oblivion.
