Oh this thread is still going on? You can be level 50 too! Quit your job, quit school, and play 16+ hours a day for a month! It's easy!

I started this character at the CE launch, and played for about 2 months. Haven't touched it since.

Physical level 50 is not all that substantial an accomplishment by now. When you can earn between 1000 and 1500+ xp per successful synth as a crafter, it's pretty easy to blast through the levels. My character is physical level 40 and I haven't been doing a whole lot with the game for the last week or so. 50 by now is no big deal.

Have egos in the MMO community become so fragile that someone is concerned that a non-combat class will beat them to the level cap? Pretty sad....

What do we have forward to look to next week? Will we be seeing topics like, "Blacksmiths are OP, NERF BLACKSMITHS.."?

I wouldn't put it past some people...

I still remember back in a certain beta when a cash shop was announced, someone actually recommended putting in an option to buy max level from the start.

Simply astonishing.

I dont think anyone cares that a Crafter(or anyone else for that matter) will reach the level cap before them. I think its the fact that they have ALREADY done so in what....three weeks? Fatigue WHAT? might as well have done away with it and a lot of the other barriers when you see stuff like this.

Crafting should give just as much XP as soloing mobs...
Not sure why so much physical exp is rewarded...

To some extent we should all care if someone has already hit level cap because SE designs their game and implements certain game mechanics based upon how fast the player base tears through content. Take the fatigue system as an example...or just look at the average xp/sp gains per kill/synth/leve. These are the controls by which SE dictates how long it takes you to reach cap.

I've played a lot of MMO's and I've never seen a more ravenous or fanatical player base than FFXI (and now, FFXIV). The amount of time that some people log into these games is just absurd and unhealthy. If too many people throw off the leveling curve by reaching cap inside of the 1st month, expect some new time sinks and road blocks to be implemented by SE (i.e. Maat) Maybe that's why synth fail rates are going up and up and up...

I don't think SE wants anyone reaching endgame too quickly because there is no such thing as endgame in FFXIV. There's barely a beginning or middle game right now >< The last thing SE needs right now is a large contingent of their dwindling player base to reach cap and have nothing to do. SE needs to focus on fixing what's in place right now. It's a lot easier to just slow your progress as opposed to developing, testing, and implementing new endgame content.

Good point. If SE thinks the game is too easy since people are hitting the cap, they might make it *gasp* harder! New SP/exp curves (o gosh no) with slower exp/sp gains.

It's like that a$$hole that gets an A+ and messes up the grading curve for the whole class.

I doesn't matter. Combat classes don't have to farm mobs or gather resources before they can sit down to kill the mob that actually grants them sp/xp on their chosen class. Level cap is insignificant. Rank is where it's at. And I can assure you, any crafters at rank 50 right now have spent copious (and I mean copious) amounts of time grinding away at their class. It takes upwards of 120 synths to get from rank 25-26 and hat number just goes up as you progress.

And if SE feels it's too fast, they'll nerf sp/xp gains for crafters...nobody else. You guys need to find more important things to fuss over.

So people have a lot of free time on their hands. I'm not sure what business it is of yours or why it warrants such concern.

Do some people really expect to be the most hardcore gamer out of the entire playerbase?

This is going as I expected.. I've been playing a lot, have been focused on Goldsmithing, yet am only 27 at the moment. There's a Lalafell on my server already in the 40s. Frankly, I wouldn't want to be in the 40s already, because that would mean I do almost nothing outside of playing XIV.
