So I've been rank 20+ armorer for about 5 leve resets, and I can't seem to figure out how to earn these marks. Are they randomly given on local leves that are rank 20+? Are they not given out locally? I just can't seem to figure this out.

They're given out, seemingly at random, in place of the gil component of the reward. You have no way of knowing if you're going to get guild marks or not until you actually turn in the leve and see first hand.

There's a theory that I've been trying to test that suggests finishing the required items with a final assessment greater than 50 increases your chances of earning guild marks instead of gil. Sadly, and you'll forgive my broken record kvetch about the issue, but crafting above about rank 15 is broken as **** right now and getting anywhere near 50 on a rank 20 leve (much less 25) as a rank 25 armorer has been next to impossible. I'm lucky to complete the leves at all.

I've noticed that as well. Items I can crank out at a reasonable 10% failure, all of a sudden become impossible to complete in a leve.

I just got armorer guild marks tonight for the second time since joining the guild two weeks ago. 884 marks for a leve turned in with a final assessment of 32. I wouldn't say that disproves the theory that higher assessment increases chances, but it does set aside any questions as to whether or not you require a certain assessment to have any chance of getting them at all.

At this rate, I should have my first armorer GM ability in...4-6 weeks. Ehh.

through my testing 50+ has a better chance has i've gotten plenty of ARM marks and already got my chain weaving book. and 90% of my marks were gotten off 50+ assements. i did get one once at a 30+ but i find it to be that it is random and it just looks like the higher assement can just increase your chances.

thats just my findings so far though. who knows it could just be 100% random and you could get them when the game feels like its ready to give them. 4100 marks from leves so far though. working on my next training book 1100/5000.

but other note. some of them seem harder then they should be. the iron buckles i was compeleting at 23 with little problems, but the other 25s would really be a pain. i did one 25 one day and passed, but the next reset i couldn't make one item from the same leve
