I was doing battle and fieldcraft leves and got damaged gear, went to town, fixed all gear but the icon stays up. I decide to level up carpentry and the synthesize button was gone. I logged off and came back the damaged armor icon still there, synthesize button is there now but now I have 126 gil instead of 10126. I am low level, second char and I know how much it is to fix my armor and it wasn't 10k. Anyone else lose gil like that or not be able to get the damaged gear icon to leave? I searched forums and couldn't find any info. Thanks

1) Are you sure you didn't spend that 10k fixing your equipment? Anything but basic equipment costs several thousand to repair if using the NPC repair.

2) The NPC doesn't fix accessories. If you still have damage after visiting said NPC, it's likely one of those items. They must be fixed by yourself or another player.

This. You shouldn't craft with accessories on. It does cause damage. Broken mechanic, i know. Also, if you are wearing gear that is higher than your rank, it costs more to repair via NPC.

Thanks for the response. I am only rank 13 and have one rank 13 piece. I got damage doing a battle leve and went straight to the npc to repair. All my other armor is starting gear. If it costs 10k to fix one r13 piece after one battle then sheesh i'm in big trouble heh. Thats the only thing it could have been I guess. I check all my gear with the npc and half is 90% or better and the rest is 75% and the icon is still up there. Just a bug I guess. Man I hope its not that freeking expensive to fix. it take me a couple days to make 10k lol.

Once you start doing lvl 20 leve's, you will make gil fast. Also, sell crystal shards. I made almost a million gil selling earth shards already. I'm only rank 15.

One time it cost me 6k to repair the level 13 Armor because I was leveling fishing (6-9) and forgot to take it off. So you can easily hit 10k repairs. Not sure if that is what happened in your case.

I usually wearing gathering crafting gear for those activities and then use my normal garb for sp'ing and battle leve's.
Its a bit more costly but with gathering and shards being so profitable its been great. and with synthesis I can repair all my own items anyways
