Did something pop up to you either in game through trial and error or through a post you read here on Zam that you didn't know about when you first started playing? Share the wealth my friend and post it here!

I'll kick it off. I didn't know until almost a WEEK AGO!!! (in caps to indicate my ignorance :D ) that when you summoned and dismissed your retainer from the bell in the adventurers guild that it never went to an area in which it sold stuff for you. It just went... away. Once I learned this and physically placed the retainer in a ward (this was right before the categories came into play) imagine my surprise that I couldn't get to her anymore without going to the particular ward to see her again.

So many things I learned on ZAM I lost count.

Latest was yesterday. I think it was Thaylos that posted that the latest Nvidia Driver is available.

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Other notables included:

/equip sub "Item" <--- the macro for off-hand weapons.

How to buy the right PC.

How to open ports so the downloader would work.

Embarassing perhaps, but how to open the Blue Chests! (Examine throught the menu, derpa derp.)

The suggestion for downloading Speedfan to monitor PC temps.

In fact, about 90% of what I know about FFXIV and bout 50% of my PC knowledge comes directly from ZAM.

Don't turn in the local leve until all the mats are used. Get the xp from the extra mats.

I figured it out on my own and discovered friends had been throwing away the additional xp.

That you can effectively select which faction to gain from leves by not accepting the leve and re-examining it.

I learned that its sometimes cheaper to buy new equipment because its cheaper than repairing it. Kind of like the Ink jet printers are in real life.
