Ability falls off bar?Follow

I've noticed this a few times now-

I'll be crafting for long periods of time and realise I haven't seen tender touch or preserve pop up, when I go to check on my abilities they've slipped off the bar for no apparent reason.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does it happen when I change classes too often?
It's rather annoying...

If you have used some other crafting job with not enough points to have all the abilities up at same time, then it'll automaticly throw the extras of.
Other than that can't think of a reason.

Really annoying when changing jobs with high level difference, wish they'd just let us assign different ability bars to different classes instead of having to muck about with the ui or macros.

This.

If you're on a crafting class that has 12+ ability points to spend and you put 3 actions on your bar and then switch to a crafting class that only has 10 points to spend, the third action you initially put on your bar will be taken off. The same happens with combat classes if you switch to a class that has fewer points than your previous class...it starts pulling abilities off your bar until you're at or below your allowed maximum for the new class. It's not a perfect system but it's better than it was on open beta where switching classes pulled everything off your bars and you had to reset them either manually or via macro.

Put the one you like the most in slot 1.

To macro these you use the same command as normal.

/eaction 1 "Maker's Muse"
/eaction 2 "Blinding Speed"

The game knows that these go in the bottom bar and they do not conflict with your battle Ability settings.

Example, you can have:

/eaction 3 "Epiphany"
/eaction 3 "Second Wind"

in the same macro and they will go to the Ability bar where they belong.

Didn't they say in a previous patch that they fixed this? I remember they had implemented a fix where extra abilities beyond your point limit would just be grayed out instead of erased. Although for me, it still erases the actions I set on the action bar when I change to a lower level job. -_-

No what the fixed was it use to empty all of your abilities when you changed jobs. The only thing you would have equiped was the level 1 job ability. Now the abilities just drop down to your action total.

You can also keep hand and land traits equiped.

For example my bot can have stroke of luck and field mastery equiped. My preserve and tender touch are still equiped even though I don't have the points on bot to have that many equiped.

If my con with 22 points switches to my pug with 16 points then I loose abilities to get me back down to 16.
My Carp would keep tender and preserve, but if I switch to level 1 cul I would loose tender since I don't have enough hand points for both.

Abilities being removed for insufficient AP is pretty annoying. They need to get around to saving action bars by class.

On a related note, I once had Guard simply refuse to be on my action bar. I had a shield equipped, and when I equipped the shield, I got the standard "Guard has been assigned to Action Slot 2" message, but it wasn't in action slot 2. In fact, it wasn't in any action slot. What's more, I couldn't assign any other ability to slot 2 as though it were taking up the slot, even though it was entirely unusable. I had to log out to fix it. It's really stupid that Guard isn't listed under Shield skill and that it's automatically assigned AND you can't remove it.
