Interesting, is this our first class adjustment? I'm interested to hear how this affects Conjurers.

Not the most groundbreaking update they'll ever perform, but it's something.

I wonder if there was more (ninjapatch!) or if that's really all there was. Several of those changes are merely a change of values that shouldn't require a week to do. For example, the Fastcast effect change from 20% to 10%, or raising the display priority of the repair NPC's above PC models.

Do we have any idea how large the dev team is? They seem to take a long time to accomplish things, even during beta. Either they've got a team that is too small, or they're not releasing updates as they finish them.

Good. I'd made a post earlier about that. The Ul'dah one was a pain to get to display since so many players bazaar or craft right around it.

A small update, but better then nothing I guess. I am waiting to see how SE will do in late November and mid December where they promised lots of changes. If actually done on time and correctly, it should help the game very much.

Another disappointing patch. I'm not expecting a full content update every week but with all the issues plaguing this game, they could atleast start fixing them one by one, rather than a big update a month or two from now.

The SP bug should be top priority, it's game breaking.

This may come off as whiny and it probably is but I really really want that retainer search function implemented already. The most annoying thing for me so far is not being able to find what I need searching through all those freakin retainers. I just want to find the item I'm looking for and move on to the fun things, like actually playing.

Increase your fire element affinity. I have 2x Fire Crystals dropping frequently from mobs thanks to my high fire affinity.

How many points do you have for fire? I'm level 14 and I think I have around 50. The rest is distributed among other elements.

Same here. It makes me sad to have to search for an hour or more for an item and sometimes even go to a different city just to do it again.

Affinity does not affect crystal/shard drop, as an example, I have 20 fire affinity and I farm near Ul'dah, and I constantly get 2 crystals dropping, to where I have 50 or more at any time.

Patience, grasshoppers. When they talked about search functions and changes to crafting and such they were in reference to November and December patches. We're still in October. Changes to things already in the game are easier to implement then putting in new things.

i really want that retainer as well being a arc and crafter fills up space like you would not believe. and you think SE would want to get that extra buck when billing comes due.

OUT OF SPACE SE GIVE ME 2nd RETAINER.

Is it just me or does everything seem sluggish since the update?

Been playing for a little bit now and averything seems less responsive than it used to. Mining took me forever and fighting a dodo was almost suicide.

Even my macros to change class seem sluggish where usually the commands were executing fine and in order now it seems like it messes up a lot.

Everything is working fine for me.

Hmmm. That's good then, I must just be having an off day with it. Will give my system a reboot and see if I can egg it on a little better.

My response times are really sluggish, too. May be a coincidence - I dunno. What's really weird though is that occasionally my Concussive Blow has been used without expending any TP. At least three times now, in fact.

I've just logged in and it appears there is going to be a 2nd bout of maintenance. The system chat says

-------System Message------
On Oct 22 2010 from
5.45 to 745 (PDT) / 12:45 to 14:45 (GMT),
FINAL FANTASY XIV Maintenance will be
performed.
Please log out before the maintenance begins
See the Information section for more details

But so far, I can't see the update on the Lodestone. I guess something in their latest patch isn't working right.

I don't get the targeting things...

Why don't they stop bandaiding it and figure out a control scheme for quick targeting? Perhaps making something similar to the F# - F# we had before. We can have presets setup for party, npc types etc and then perhaps have a menu selection setup just like a boot selection. "I want this person first priority, this next, this next". Then if we tab through we CHOOSE who is targeted etc.

Maybe it's overkill i dunno.

I would have at least liked to see one of their promised "major" fixes in this patch though. At least give us hope.

The last 2 patches were pretty cool in the things they addressed improved. This one was kind of like when you are 5 and you open up a present on your birthday and its socks :-D

Well, this would be assuming the entire team is working on one single problem at a time. I'm sure they have a full plate, with the huge amount of bugs in the gameplay, technical bugs in the program, server/hardware bugs and problems, balancing issues and general gameplay matters, content updates (all the new stuff coming that they've been working on since before the game came out), the version updates coming next couple months and beyond, the ps3 version work...

I am sure they have their work cut out for them, and probably have a ton of things cooking at once. They likely just squeeze an update out with a batch of what's done as they are able.
And I don't think it'd be too practical to pull the servers down every single time one item was addressed. May as well fix a group of issues as you can, put together a version update, put it out there, and work on making sure that one sticks while the rest of the work goes on.

I feel you on that one.

I was expecting this to be just minor patchworking. Like someone mentioned earlier. I wonder if what the posted in their notes was all they did or did they pull some ninja updates as well.
This version update just came out of the blue. I honestly wasn't anticipating it at all.

I'm not expecting any dramatic changes until the Nov and Dec updates like they had already mentioned.
Until then, its nice to see S/E is still working on the little thing as-well as the big changes.

One step at a time, one step at a time.

These patches are expected to fix smaller issues. The bigger issues will be fixed in the Nov and Dec update, so it's best not to get super high hopes for these smaller patches.

My "free" time is up on Dec 6th since they added the extra 30 days. So I do hope they show some real improvement before then, including either a fully functional search feature or the implementation of the existing auction house that is currently sitting disabled in the game because they suddenly decided to be "different" ( different does not equal better or even good ), as well as some "real" content not consisting of repeating the same crap ad nauseum every 36 hours, or they will have wasted giving out that extra time in my case at least. And I'm fairly sure from reading the various forums and gaming sites out there that I'm not the only one.

Is anybody else feeling some increased server lag on checks?
Like higher delay between an action being trigged and actually taking place (abilities, or moving items into your retainer) for example.

Its become disgustingly high for me ever since the patch.
