There are no other quests. Leve's and the storyline quests, that's it.
Sadly, this is the absolute truth.
If you expected anything more than grinding from a JRPG in its early stages then you, my friend, were expecting a miracle.
I don't really know about this. All JRPG's do require a lot of grinding(RPGs in general, nation of origin isn't so important anymore), but I can't think of a single one(Recent or otherwise) that had nothing BUT Grinding to do early in the game. There have almost always been side quests, or at the very least, actual immersion in to the game from the start.
Either you are some star ordained warrior destined to defeat the blah blah blah, or you at least have some significant role in the world.
Even FF: The Four Heroes of Light has more story based content early on then XIV has now. And that game is freaking horrible(Don't be tricked in to buying it just because you liked the III Remake;_;).
For a lot of gamers, the story isn't all that important. Doing missions in XI with others, I noticed a ton that just spammed enter over and over so they could get their reward faster.
Knowing this, I can kind of see why SE didn't think of quests as an incredibly important feature to throw in right now. If most people just blow through all of their hard work, why make any of that a priority(Especially with so many other problems around)? It really does suck for those of us that enjoy this sort of thing, but it is seemingly a minority among MMO players.
you'll get more access to lvl 20 leves around rank 13 or so <or at least i did maybe it was based of physical level instead of class rank>
It's Rank 18 Physical. Some newer mobs(Does, Crabs, Humanoids) to kill if that's interesting to some. Also, prepare for some Imps. Lot of Imps. Way to many Imps... Edited, Oct 23rd 2010 12:58am by Uchitoru
