Yesterday I was doing some testing on stats and equipment after hearing different classes had different stats. I took off my Bronze Barbut, with the supposed forumla being 2*R+32 = cap, and noticed no difference in HP. So I also took off my Dodoskin Subligar and noticed no difference once again. But wait, my Bronze Barbut also had +1 MND but my MP didn't change either and I didn't put any points into MND. I took off my Dodoskin Harness and it still didn't change. I remember that when I allocated my stats into MND, I would have about 250 MP as a PUG but it seems your equipment, if it has VIT or MND, has no effect on HP or MP.
Anyone else did testing on this?
EDIT: Seems equipment with VIT/MND does NOT increase HP/MP but should still increase DEF/M.DEF. This makes it difficult to determine the proper stat cap if every job has a different cap on their stats.
