I was wondering how it worked. I am currently using a code a friend of mine in game gave me. He bought the game I have not yet. Is my time also extended? Simply wondering since I am only just starting to figure this game out and am still unsure if I want to buy it myself..

The friend I gave my "buddy code" to said he received an e-mail in the last day or two notifying him that his free trial had been extended as well. It looks like all accounts registered before the cut-off date (Oct. 25th?) will get an extra 30 days, purchased or "buddied".

I'm also curious. My friend is playing with a free-trial code I got in the CE edition of the game.

I was unable to tell him with certainty how he'll play after the 30day free trial (+extension) are up.
Will he have to purchase the game (which sounds logical)? Can he purchase it online or does he have to get the boxed version? Will he be able to keep playing with his character? Is he just going to be billed off his credit card once the free trial period is over and continue playing as the rest of us?

To OP, your trial period should be extended as well if you made a character before October 25th.

When you make your character you have to purchase it on your SE account, which for people with codes means - purchase it for 0$ (in case you were puzzled by their choice of words).

1 WITCH. Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd.
2 WITCH. Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin'd.
3 WITCH. Harpier cries:—'tis time! 'tis time!
1 WITCH. Round about the caldron go;
In the poison'd entrails throw.—
Toad, that under cold stone,
Days and nights has thirty-one;
Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot!
ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
2 WITCH. Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a ****-broth boil and bubble.
ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
3 WITCH. Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
Witches' mummy; maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark;
Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark;
Liver of blaspheming Jew;
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse;
Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,—
Make the gruel thick and slab:
Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
For the ingrediants of our caldron.
ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
2 WITCH. Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Buddy pass is actually a full copy of the game, so he won't need a retail key.
