Regardless of all of the bad reviews, bugs, and skeptical players - I'm still having a great time and have high expectations for this game going forward.

Gary and I spent this last week's podcast talking our hopes/expectations/reactions.

There's so much negativity being voiced about this game, I'd like to hear about you guys that are having fun!

My linkshell is honestly so awesome that the members are the reason I'm sticking out this rough patch..... until things get epic (and I have every faith that they freaking WILL).

What's making you want to stick around? What are you looking forward to?

I am looking forward to being able to hire more retainers.

I am also looking forward to new recipes and notorious monsters - especially Open World NMs

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

echo what he mentioned (minus the 24hr timer for NMs).

Also I'm ready for Ishgard (Ashgard - sp?) "the new jeuno" already...

I'm sticking around because I have fun playing and I love the ppl in my LS.

I'm looking forward to item sort, more retainers and building my own cannon to go on my self built boat.

I'm waiting for some NPC-quests.

Currently I'm just enjoying crafting anything and everything.
I'm also pretty sure I'll try out every single job of this game at some point for those awesome first XP rewards.

I'm sticking around because I enjoy ranking up my crafting jobs and I can't wait to see what changes/additions they make for them.

I also enjoy playing a game with many of the friends I made in the prime of a previous linkshell in XI. Seems like chickens are coming home to roost. I think of the original group I've gotten back in contact with at least half a dozen of the core members.

ask the following questions:

1. How do players feel back when FFXI retailed?

2. How many quit @ level 25?

3. how many quit @ level 10?

4. did FFXI changed over the year to let you solo 100% ? i will answer for you, NO.

Do SE care about what you think? No.

did FFXI run and keep going on? Yes.

I am pretty sure FFXI started around roughly the same population as today, the game didn't hit 1 million until 2 years later.

I don't even log in anymore. I was going to log in last night, but decided I didn't feel like wasting my time looking for gear so I turned on Civ 4, I apparently have 37 turns you have any idea how long it takes to get a game of Civ 4 to tell you to GTFO?

XI never hit one million active subscriptions. I believe it peaked at 650k.

More on topic...

I'm looking forward to SE's crafting fixes. In fact, I'm looking forward to them so much that I won't be playing beyond the free trial unless/until they get it right. And assuming they get that right...

I'm looking forward to a streamlined UI. Could care less about markets wards and auction houses and mail and chocobos and airships.

I'm looking forward to the story elements. I've been 26 armorer for several days now but my Path NPC linkshell finally just lit up last night.

I know SE has big plans in store for XIV. It may have not launched in a great state, but there is a big huge game here. In the mean time my LS is awesome i'm looking forward to our adventures to come!

Seriously.. If you want to whine and ***** about the current game it's best if you just leave. FFXI wasn't so hot either in its first year itself. Just do us all a favor, and leave all your hater ******** out of it and just ******* leave already. FFXIV is looking to be a GREAT game in the future and I'm sticking around.

Could we edit out all the negative posts in this thread? I just don't see why we can't have a single thread without someone coming in and being a Donnie Downer. Give us the one positive, happy thread!

I'm really enjoying the game.

I'm still finding a lot to do when I play, even if the content is a bit lacking.

I haven't even got a busy LS yet. When I first started a few old faces from FFXI joined up in a LS, there was only about 8 of us. But all seem to have gone back to FFXI for now and just me and one other mate are currently playing.

We do leves most days and when I'm solo I'll craft or level another job solo. I havent had a proper party session yet.

But I look forward to when getting parties becomes easier. And any new content and fixes that come along.

I think this game has masses of potential and I'm going to enjoy the rise. I'm in it for the long term and its gonna be great :)
