I seem to be missing a lot with Damnation and even more with radiance. Anyone know what stat I use to up the acc of these abilities? I am shocked at how much these abilities miss.

People say it's DEX based, but I think it's ridiculous that a magic WS would need DEX.

At Rank 18 CON, and with 47 MND INT and PIE, I don't seem to miss Radiance all that much.

I feel I'm kinda in the same boat as the OP on this one. I'm only rank 14 CON and THM, but these abilities don't seem to be worth the AP cost to set, nor the stamina to use if they're going to wiff 60% of the time on mobs that matter, and only return a paltry amount of MP on the occasion they do connect. Perhaps they get better in time, or maybe I'm just missing something here.

What I've found works well for MP regeneration is to have both THM and CON leveled a bit, and leave both Exaltation and Tranquility in slots 29 and 30. Since they have no AP cost, you can leave them set there on any job without taking up space. This allows you to avoid the cooldown timer when changing to THM or CON, so you can swap between them to restore half your MP every 5 minutes instead of 10. For the moment, this provides more than enough MP to reduce any benefit from Damnation/Radiance.

Edit for stats: 43 INT, 52 MND, 51 PIE, 39 DEX, 50 VIT, 16 STR

On a VT or IT mob this skill hit's about 5%-10% of the time if even that, then the MP gain is around 10MP or so. It seems like these skills might be bugged.

I have heard too that DEX would be the stat to improve acc for these skills, but to have a mage sacrifice PIE, INT, MND, or even VIT for DEX is absurd... for just one or two Weaponskills. It's not worth the ability points imo. The MP to be gained, if it hit's, isn't even significant.

I generally grind on yellow or green mobs, when I get low on MP I'll pick up a few blue mobs and use Damnation or Radiance.

You're better doing this because you'll do more damage against the lower level mobs (which is more mp returned to you), and you will also have way higher accuracy.

Hm. Both abilities connect about 30-50% for me. Which sounds about right, because thay also
do roughly three times the amount of damage of a normal spirit dart. Add in the chance to
recover some MP, and you got an ability that's not awesome but quite ok.

Using this and Tranquility, I've yet to see the day where I run out of MP.

I was not going for mp from these since if I use the 2 mp regen abilities I am fine. I found that I gain a lot of skill points from the attacks when I am trying to level and do not have to worry about healing. I just tend to miss a lot with them.

Something is definitely up with these weapon skills. I have zero added dexterity on 27 lancer and land my weaponskills approximately with 66% accuracy. As 26 thaumaturge, with no added dexterity either, these two weaponskills hit about 20-30% of the time. I've come to expect these two weaponskills to miss everytime I do them. Has anyone tried 4x brass rings as a mage to see if there's any difference?
