This reminded me to always have Fraps on..! I completely forgot about it..
As of today I saw a Rank 13 Culinarian class guy running in Thanalan repeatedly using Quick on himself.. you know, when you use Disciples of Hand abilities that grant you that effect.. he wasn't a DoH, and however you can't use quickening abilities that many times so fast, also no Hermes' shoes.. someone explain if there's a valid justification to what I have just seen...

I can confirm that. I had a little lalafell running and overtaking me while i used my hermes shoes. He had no hermes shoes wearing himself and he was running too long too fast.

There are only 2 possibilities.

1. Cheat
2. Lag

It indeed is possible this was because of lag. But that guy ran really fast lol.

Known bug, skills stop having cooldowns until you add new skills to bar. I had it happen the first week of release; didn't even know those gathering skills were suppose to have cooldowns.
I don't blame them for abusing it, it's hard not to when it's just there on your bars.

Well the alternative is for him to use the ability, count to 30 or whatever and then click again - but no one's gonna do that :P I don't blame them for wanting to get from place to place faster (distances, anima shortage) but it is an exploit. Just glad it's not a huge one, like bugging high rank mobs into not attacking you or smth.

There's another glitch people are all hot and bothered that involves interacting with a resource node and then running away so that when you pull out your tool and start harvesting you're actually a long ways from the node off in the middle of nowhere swinging your bits. Not sure what the appeal is aside from, "lewlewl look what I can do!!"

What people don't realize is that they're not controlling a character running around a real world. They're using a software application that interfaces with another software application and both of those applications are very new, and when you start ******* around with glitches and bugs like that, things can go very haywire very fast. And you have to know that as soon as someone's character gets corrupted from abusing things that are not working as intended they're going to cry SE a river over how ****** the software is.

Most glitches are harmless, but I wish more people would just be a little smarter and not exploit anything/everything they can just because it's there to exploit.

Considering the state of the game a lot of what you will see will probably be bugs, having said that there was a large "app" community on FFXI, some of which was very profitable. If you think they dont already have apps being made to do the kind of stuff you could do on FFXI your crazy. Won't be long before you can buy the newest wizbot or FFXIVapp.

Issue comes from Fleet of Foot being bugged. A well known glitch, probably soon to be patched, but when it happens you get perma 120% run speed.

Yes it does, if it has no cooldown then you are bugged.
