Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let people know that we will be merging the Botanist, Miner, and Fisher forums. The DoH classes seem to be complicated enough where they can remain single forums, but the DoL classes each having a forum doesn't seem to make much sense now that we know more about what they're involved in. Or rather, that there's not really much to them. =\

Not sure I understand the reasoning behind this... Myself being a miner, I could care less about how often ash logs drop from grade 1 harvesting nodes, or how effective so and so ability is on grade 2 nodes, or whatever other things. This will just make me look through more threads about stuff I'm not interested in.

I'm sure it'd be a little more noise when browsing threads for points of interest but some generalization can be a good thing. It's more efficient for both the admins and the posters to have a little extra noise in an appropriate number of forums than a large number of mostly dead forums.

The sad truth is that the DoL classes are basically all the same thing. SE just creates an illusion of them having differences by making them have different areas to "farm", use different tools, and displaying different text, but you're basically doing the same thing (hot/cold mini game and then moving to the next node to do it again).

Aye, a sticky for each in a single forum would be enough.

Things like how often ash logs drop belong on the Ash Log page, not necessarily on a forum. The forums are meant more for topics and general information and right now, these classes just aren't fleshed out enough to warrant their own spot. Maybe if Botanist had Gardening or Fishing had fish farming or something more complicated, but it doesn't.

I say keep the idea of merging the DoH forums firmly in mind as well, or at least provide a general crafting forum. The only difference between one DoH class and the next are the recipes and the class quests. As far as the actual mechanics of crafting (which is sort of the focus of most discussions that go beyond "How do I maek dis?" "dat's how" "k tanks") there are many discussions to be had that apply to all DoH classes but they still tend to get shuffled off the page by mundane questions like, "why doez it do dis?" "dat's why" "k tanks".

yea...sad but true. It almost feels like the Miner and Botanist could be combined into one class since they are virtually the same.
