I was just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this... I'm personally very shocked that I haven't heard any buzz about this...

I remember when FFXI first hit the shelves in NA and I picked this up, they were mid Halloween event (of course I had no idea what was going on...) But I thought it was a nice addition to any MMO and defintely something to mix things up...

They have their hands full trying to put stuff in the game that should have been in in alpha or beta and its looking like that stuff wont be in for another month or two. I wouldnt expect much for halloween.

SE knowing this game was being released close to Halloween should have had something prepared in the first place.

I'm not terribly upset, but it's a bit of a let down. Holiday themes are a fun way to change things up every once in awhile.

I assume that it is much too late to implement anything... which is a bit of a letdown..

I was kind of hoping to read something about it in the patch-notes... even a simple "Trick or Treating" questline would of been potentially entertaining.

Maybe introduce a Halloween Leve?

I don't know if you noticed but SE wasn't ready for anything

What made me think of this was that there is a Christmas Event planned (it sounded like) in one of the patch notes.. and it made me think about other seasonal stuff that they've done before~

who cares about holiday events right now. i would rather have the version updates than a stupid useless item that just takes up precious inventory space. you can have your pumpkin head mask +1 that makes u look like a pumpkin and takes 78 inventory spaces. i think ill pass. not gonna be one to complain about how horrible the game is because i enjoy it a lot. but there is a lot of work to be done before they waste time with holiday shenanigans.

I did... I did indeed. :(

Seasonal events give you something else to do so I kind of wish they had added it in. But it's not a big deal, they already stated they've got something coming December so we can likely expect some sort of Christmas-themed stuff to be available around then. Anyone suspect it might be something similar to the smilebringer coats and hats from FFXI? Something with perhaps a hidden effect like boosts when eating cookies or milk.

Honestly, not only did I not expect them to do a Halloween even yet, but I think it would be a terrible idea if they did. With the lack of a Halloween event, most people respond "that sucks they should do an event... oh well..."
If they did a Halloween event, most people would respond "OMFG fix your game before you start putting out pointless fluff events to try to hide that your game sucks and is empty".

So, lose-lose but this way it looks like SE is still working on fixes.

Seconded. I would kinda like an event, but at the same time, if I saw one, I'd want to scream "Why the **** are you wasting your time on this ****?"

It's like adding spinning rims and undercarriage lights to a car that has a non-functional reverse and a busted windshield.

I don't want them wasting time on events either.... Each patch is a joyous event for me. I'm more happy to see bits of the game working better than having an actual content update/event.
