It says they "Increases your affinity with (class)-based actions by 10, up to a maximum of 100."

Does this mean that they make your skills stronger while you are that class or that they make the skills better when you use them as cross class skills?"
The reason I think Its for cross class usage is because when you try to equip a weapon on your off hand it says
"Unable to equip. Either your primary skill or item affinity is not high enough."

So... anyone have these abilities yet and can shed some light?

Ok, here is my theory on this.

We all know that you can cross-class abilities. What I believe what the OP stated means, is that the effectiveness of using your OWN classes' abilities will be increased, for example:

Gladiator gets Rampart which can provides a boost to defense. Now if you use Rampart on say...Pugilist, the effectiveness of Rampart may be reduced. Now lets say you get this ability that increases Gladiator based Actions, and equip it while on Pugilist. Now your Rampart may be more effective than before, or even just as effective as if you were using it on Gladiator.

It also lets you use class only skills.

If you're a Thaumaturge, you can use Tranquility. It has a 20 minute cooldown though.

I cant confirm that myself just because I am not high enough rank of somethign to test it.
BUT it would still make since that weapon-specific skills would still be locked out, even if the class-specific skills are unlocked.

Nice to know this though. Will probably effect the way i level DoW/M classes whenever i get around to doing that.

Would be awesome if enough +Conjury affinity allows other classes to cast Conjurer spells as AoE.

Hmm, how many times do you have to get this skill in order to use class only skills?
It says that it gives 10 affinity each time you get it, up to 100. which would mean you need to get it 10 times to be 100% effective.

So does that mean you need 100 to use class specific skills or when you get it the first time can you use them?
How effective is tranquility when you use it? do you get the same mana back as you would on it's main class?
I'm guessing the more marks you put in it the less that 20 minutes will become... If it opens up when you get it once.

If that is the case I wonder about 2 things:

1 - it says "increased by 10 upto a maximum of 100" leads me to believe you can get this multiple times. And it stacks in your traits slots. Would that mean that if you use multiples of this trait that you come close getting equal cooldowns/effectiveness on a move from a different class?

Or does it mean at 50 you have an effectiveness of 100? and at 10 you have an effectiveness of 10?

IE:

Would this allow Tranquility to come down to 10min as well and you could use both MP refresh skillz every 10min? O_O! I would love that.

2 - Every melee class would be able to get Speed Serge... that would be nice. (haste plus HP drain per hit)

EDIT: great minds think alike Shadowofclarence :)

You can only get the affinity trait once. You can use tranquility by getting the 10 trait

Hmmm. was thinking about something else.
Do you have Silhouette? can you use that also on other classes?

The reason Im asking is because im curious if you can use skills that require "sword" or "lance" on other classes once you get this trait.

Tranquility says "Requires Thaumaturgy" as does Tranquility.

If you can use thaumaturge skills like these on other classes then it isnt too far fetched to think that you might be able to use "requires Axe" skills on others.

Also, Have you tried using tranquility on a DOW?

I think this just improves your stats if you use that job as your main.
