Moon Phase and Drop Rate/Drop QualityFollow

#1 Oct 30 2010 at 10:03 PM Rating: Decent
Is it just me or is New Moon definitely a positive influence on drop rate/quality.

After doing botany in Coerthas for almost 2 days now it is currently a new moon. I have been recently getting 7 Flax from harvesting nodes even got 7 Flax +3. In all the time I have spent out here, I haven't seen drops like that. (Note: This is the first time I believe I have farmed here during a new moon.)

Anyone else have another confirmation of this?

I know there was a general consensus of moon phase effecting drops in FFXI, but being a new game doesn't hurt to reconfirm this.

Kinda off topic but... I'd be ****** if I found out that this (moon phases effecting drop/synth/hq rates) is something they chose to spend some of the past 5 years of their development time on when we have so many more significant aspects of the game that need dire attention.

SE has stated that nothing regauding phases or the name days or gaurdians you pick in the beginning of the game effect ANY point of the game. They said tho that they may have a affect on the game in the future but right now they mean nothing.

What you are referring to is the following:

Quote:
Q. What effect does my character’s namdeday have in the game world?
Currently, a character’s nameday has no bearing in-game, but the planning of future content such as nameday present campaigns and temporary nameday buffs is ongoing. Of course, we will be striving to ensure that whatever special benefits are granted are as fair as possible, with all namedays being treated equally. Feel free to match your character’s nameday to your own birthday, to select some lucky numbers, or, should neither of those options tickle your fancy, go random!

Q. I get that there are twelve guardians, but what type of influence will the one I select exert over my character?
At present, the guardian selected during character creation will have no significant impact within the game world. In the future, when new features impacted by or related to a character’s guardians are implemented, we will also be presenting players with the option to choose a new guardian. You may offer your piety to the deity that most closely reflects your character’s personality, or perhaps the guardian worshipped by the nation in which your adventure begins. Another option is to select the guardian under whose moon your character’s nameday falls. Or you could be as capricious as the gods themselves, and simply pick one on a whim!

They never said anything about Moon Phases.
