I'm using the autohotkey method, and can confirm it works very well.

this looks like it borders on automation, which will most likely get you banded from the game.

Plus i see nothing on the site that has to do with Fullscreen or Windowed.

autohotkey is fine, its not automation and theres nothing illegal about it. If not for AHK i would have NEVER been able to create a workable hotkey setup. If anything, SE needs to be glad AHK exists.

I can play the game just fine on my screen without AHK, and I am glad it work for those who do choose to use it. But this is one of the programs used in AION to make botting capable. I played around with it just long enough during aion to see how hard it would be to use for just that purpose (out of geek curiosity - but not wanting to get banned for botting I never used it past the 1st time which I monitored it for about 30 minutes to see how effective it would be). You can use AHK to call the games process and execute commands in game using scripts.

I figure people may be using this for legit purposes to simply go fullscreen, just becareful is all I am saying.

I must laugh at this, straight from their website:

AutoHotkey is a free, open-source utility for Windows. With it, you can:

* Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder.

Another way to effectively play in fullscreen, at least for me, is to make the window size the same as your general resolution, so that it's the exact size as your desktop. I'm not saying the method you linked doesn't work well, this just seems as good a thread as any to share what I use. More options is always a good thing in my book.

I also use windowblinds, which has a nifty roll up/down feature, so that when you right click on the title bar, the window "rolls up" into it. That feature is key to how I play and still look things up efficiently.

I move ffxiv so that it's the exact size as the screen, with none of the frame out of screen except the title bar. Only a tiny sliver of the title bar is visible, and it's not at all noticeable. Plus when you turn the roll animation off, it just instantly vanishes into the title bar, and to roll it up or down, you just move the mouse against the top of the screen, and right click.

A bonus for crafters, is that the game pad, if you use it, can be set to still work with ffxiv when it's in the background... So you can set up a synth, roll up the window, and just press A, using the audio ques to synth while surfing the web. Just roll the window back down for a couple seconds while you set up your next synth and you're good to go.

Here is the actual view you have, this is a full screen capture with the ffxiv window unrolled, and the other windows still up in the background:

And here is another full screen capture, with both the firefox and ffxiv windows rolled up. Notice how tiny the exposed part of the ffxiv titlebar is at the very top of the screen, yet it's still very easy to unroll in half a second.

And lastly, this is a screen capture of the ffxiv window still rolled up, but the firefox window unrolled, this is what I normally see when I roll up the ffxiv window.

No bother maximizing, alt tabbing, or going through any steam stuff... It's all just there waiting for me as I left it with one quick click. I'm not sure if this suits anyone else, but it suits my style perfectly, and it's very fast and easy to navigate when multitasking, which I do a lot while crafting. I figured I'd post this just in case anyone else feels like giving this method a try. Hope it helps someone.

An embedded internet exploder isn't bad, but for me, firefox with adblock+ and other addons, as well as access to everything else like my music player, text files, etc. is a much better alternative, but I still at least maintain the illusion of full screen.

Windowblinds is a stardock product btw, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I know this isn't actual fullscreen, and I've heard some people say you get a performance boost with real full screen, but I'm perfectly satisfied with the settings I play on, and it runs fine in this mode. It's not only good when playing this game either, I use windowblinds all the time for the roll up feature among others, and because I go a bit crazy customizing everything on my PC to a point where it's probably a confusing eyesore to anyone besides me lol. Just ignore it, I only posted the screenshots to show how fullscreen like the windowed mode can be. :P

I gave it a shot and followed the instructions but the AHK method doesn't seem to do anything for me.

Looks like i stand corrected. Well if that's the case someone should write a script for automatic inventory sorting.
