Still playing the game and hope to stay here till it becomes equal or better than FFXI witch most of us loved.
Now to my topic, the things I really don’t understand what is the fun factor in them:
1- When you are rank 26 and your sword is rank 25 (Ash) and you have to repair it every 6 hours (depends on how much do you grind).
2- When you are 23 armor crafter and you fail 3 times on a raw on a rank 11 craft even when you are using crafting gear.
3- When you do localleve in LL and you have to run to 5 camps to hand them in (BB-Blood-Iron-Skull-Bladi) on foot.
Am not talking about not having an AH, or the game UI is crap or things like that, am talking about the things that are working as intended but its not fun to do them, to me they are work and not spending quality time on my game to relax and have fun.
In the end I hope these things are just there because there is no content and they are planning to fix them soon.
Actually, I think the durability thing is a bit annoying but... I also like it because it adds some use to crafting and makes the skills I worked so hard to level even more useful over time, and useful to a party as well! One should always carry mats to repair their weapon.
I don't agree with underwear durability though because it is pretty much impossible to repair in the field which is lame.
I don't have that problem with crafting. I very very rarely fail on synths - even synths that are above my level that require training that I don't have. I can't comment on your specific situation because I don't know what you failed etc - but there are a lot of things to be taken into consideration. As someone who managed to get off at least 2/5 maple syrup synths at R18 (it is a R25 leve craft) with the correct support, I attest that this system is starting to get a nice balance to it which allows you to generally make things above your level with difficulty and skill, while making it so you have to either mess up or be aiming for too much quality etc. to fail a lower level synth. There is an RNG goblin but it is generally pretty well behaved.
(at R22 alchemist I could make buffalo leather dyes with about a 50% fail rate and paralyzing powders with about 30% fail rate, even though they are above my level and both require training I don't have... thanks to some skill as well as preserve, tender touch and harmonize, a R22 tool in full repair, and decent and job appropriate crafting gear.)
yeah having to do runs is annoying but I just don't bother doing it unless I want to. I know it is inefficient of me but I don't do many leves because I don't feel like running around to do them. The game doesn't make you do them - you do them because you want the rewards... if you want the rewards you have to do the annoying things that entitle you to the rewards...
