Need a good server recommendationFollow

I've had the game since launch, but only started playing the past week. And no one on my server talks, like ever, or groups up in a party. The seek party function is never able to find anyone, and no one ever seems to respond in chat. I'm going to assume most of the server either doesn't speak english or they only want to play/chat with people they know in their linkshell.

I'm thinking of just counting my losses and re-rolling on another server. I don't think I've read anything about a server transfer feature coming up anytime soon. I'm only physical level 17 and pug level 12, everything else is a Hand/Land class level 10-11.

Any good server recommendations with an active community would be welcomed.

They do speak english thats just how the community is, all the servers are pretty much like that. The only honest decent community this game has is linkshells/guilds and if you don't have a godo one...well you're outta luck cause thats it.

One of the many complaints this game has is it's horrible community.

If you want to prove it to yourself of course you could always make another char and surf around to test the water. As said though they are all pretty much like that.

Well that's disappointing. Kind of a change from FFXI, I guess being forced to group/party early on in FFXI sort of forced people to communicate and thus stimulate the community.

On that note, are there any friendly, casual linkshells on any servers looking to invite a new character? At this point I'm willing to join any server with a friendly linkshell. If it helps any, I'm a FFXI vet, 2+ years but I quit early on when CoP was released, so my playing experience is pretty much level 75 jobs pre CoP. I currently also play WoW, and have been playing it since launch.

I recommend checking the forums for server specific and see if you find a LS that is recruiting to your liking. I do know on Saronia, lots of people group up, but only if you are rank 25+.

I personally do not like to RP, but I miss the fact that ppl who do not RP are silent in the games. I wish I was on that server just because I know ppl will talk.

I use to love to RP, but that was killed in WoW by other players. WTB more ppl that socially interact so that I do not have to rely on the NPC to just yell at me to leave.

Yea I made a post on Besaid last night, and I checked the forums too looking for a guild. RP isn't really my thing, but I don't mind it. I don't think I'll be looking for a RP LS though.

I thought about it, but wasn't sure I want to pay the extra money just yet for that. I was actually thinking of making an alt to level my some different classes on, since trying to level more than 2 classes and some crafting classes took up way too much inventory, but the lack of a mail system made it tough for me to go that route. I wouldn't be able to send any gear or gil back and forth.

We are still in the free period. Extra characters are free! Well till Nov 21. So if you do have an extra character slot that you do not want, be sure to cancel it before then.

You can join the social LS I'm in if you want. It isn't a huge LS, but the few members that do play are extremely active. We usually do a daily 8 leves all-around round.

Just drop a tell to Nibelung Vermillion.

I saw your post and thought your background might fit with our linkshell on Lindblum :) We're a bunch of FFXI vets who range from very active to social. Though most of us are social players, you will find us mature and friendly. Thus, we like to welcome like minded ppl. There is no application just camaraderie. Lindblum is one of the most populated servers. You will find quite a few "famous" ppl on our server such as the ppl from FFXIVblog.com, supposedly the ppl from 4chan.com, the first player to hit rank 50 on archer and so on.

Even if you decide on a different server or stay on, I would suggest you give it more time. At around late 10s and early 20s, you can start partying. There, you're likely to meet ppl. It's amazing what a simple [Hello!] can take you.

I like my server very much, and I think this link is a good indication to why many ppl choose Lindblum to call home :)

If you would like to join us, hit me up a PM. However, I've given a pearl to someone before, and they turned out to be quite the whiner. So I hope you don't get offended if I say pls don't msg me if you are one of those, haha. Happy gaming!

I'm also quite happy on Lindblum. I like my server and my linkshell. You'll certainly want to find a Linkshell that suits your play style. I'd check out the server forum.
