Things like, how do stats work and all the rest of the questions here. Every new release MMO in the last 8 years (since FFXI) has told us how to do everything in the game without us having to think, as a result, we are now unable to think for ourselves.

If you could please just explain every mechanic in the game, publish all storylines, publish solution guides for all storyline quests and put images of all NM's on the internet complete with guides to beat them that would be very helpful. Thanks.

That should deal with 95% of the posts on this thread!

Seriously. I worked out the other day (all by myself with SE telling me), that Exp gained from mobs deteriorates with weapon damage. One of my friends who has been complaining about how hard it is to get skill ups post level 20 went and repaired all of his gear and is now flying. Is it SE's fault that they didnt tell us about this, or is it our fault for wanting everything handed to us on a platter.

As a community - lets stop saying its broke (Because more often than not it isnt), and work out how to play the game! Otherwise, there are plenty of easy games on the market.

Did you read any of the posts in this thread or did you just see this as another opportunity to ***** about people who don't think the game is ready?

The game wasnt ready for release, no doubt about that and I am not complaining about anyone suggesting that it wasnt ready.

I am complaining at the vast majority of posts that are asking for explanations of things that we should be working out for ourselves.

Why was the game released without a sortable inventory, why is there no search function on wards, why are there no keyboard shortcuts to skip steps in the UI menu system. These are questions about the degree of completeness.

Why are stats broke is not a sensible question for ask the devs.

"Why are you doing this to us !?"

or more seriously :

"when will we be able to jump or fall" cause seriously ... a 1 foot step blocking me ...it ****** me off.

"why do the cuty little tiny bird attack me when i walk by and the giant crab just looks at me clueless?" or " WHY THE FO_OK did you have no judgement at all when you created mobs?"

"when will i be able to wear something in my headslot while wearing a cowl?" seriously ... not cool. masks and circlet are really great for DoM. but you cant wear them if you have a cowl. now a helm i would understand but you know what i mean ... come on.

Please read the following scenario to solve the problem:

A plane leaves LAX at 4:30PM GMT+1 traveling west at a speed of 460 MPH and an altitude of 26,000 feet, and a car leaves Erie, PA at the same time traveling south on I-79 at 60 MPH. It is the 4th Wednesday of June on a leap year and a full moon. The day element is ice, but the hourly element is wind, and you are facing south-west trying to HQ with a wind crystal. Jane eats 6 apples, John eats 2 oranges, and The Shadowlord eats twice as many grapes as Jane eats apples minus the amount of oranges John eats. What is the sum of 2 and 2?

What is the exact date and time we get the first NPC-quests?

I don't need hundreds right away just few and knowing they're being made would make ALL the difference.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Why as a Linkshell leader i cant sack members?

It would be nice if members were sacked so they can invite others without having me find them in game if im not available to run/port to their location, or even worse im not online.

I would ask them what the various tradeskill and gathering stats mean, e.g., control, perception, mag. craftsmanship, craftsmanship, gathering (I can sort of guess this one, but it would be nice to have confirmation), output, and so on.

-World needs to feel more alive. Mobs attacking other mobs.(We would not be able to interrupt the scene). Frogs on lilly pads eat flies above them.
-Dragons flying in the far distance, perching themselves on top of a mountain flying off, as we decide to get to closer to them. Prerequisites would have to completed for us to face such horrors.

-Random NPC's wondering the world, giving quests on the side that have nothing to do with the main story line. Offering new weapons or new encounters.

-Kids, dogs and cats running about the cities. Adults(npc) going about their chores. Making the cities feel more alive.

Where are these things above that made ffxi great? I thought you would have at least carried these things over from 11.

Aside from NM's, what other content is planned to alleviate the grind? Or is their intention for players to grind to 50?

The lack of substance is really getting to me lately. Throwing a bunch of enemies in a world and telling players to grind on them until their XP bar moves from A to B x 50 doesn't fly in MMO's anymore. If anything takes XIV down, that is going to be what does it. I want to know what they're planning, if anything, to avoid that fate.

"Who is the brainiac who decided that it would be a good idea to require a Blacksmith lvl 20 item to be necessary to make a lvl 8 item FOR a blacksmith to upgrade their tool and was he the same genius that thought it was an excellent idea to have random overleveled aggressive mobs littering the narrow paths of the game preventing players from completing their SOLO guildleves because it's just a cool idea to have a mob run away and get 3-5 buddies? Speaking of those buddies, was it the same person who decided that these mobs should NOT leash and instead follow the player all over the world to pound the #"&$"" out of them for even trying to complete their SOLO guildleve solo? Can you fire him for us? Thanks."

I have two not-new ones:

Why is there still no Auction House, players have better things to do with their life than search for a hour for a **** synth item.

the Anima regeneration rate is stupid, when are you planning on fixing it or introducing a alternate means of transportation.

I know that you are a business but the game is severely lacking in areas and waiting on a expansion to fix them might be a death blow to the game.

Why can we still not alt+tab out of full screen? In FFXI they used the excuse that browsing while playing would give PC players an unfair advantage (ridiculous, I know), but these days they give us a windowed option by default, so what gives? It boggles the mind.

They already answered that one mid-October in a Q&A.

Quote:
Q. Return and Teleport have made travel within Eorzea quick and easy, but it seems like I am always running out of anima. Are there any adjustments being planned?
A. Yes. The first adjustment, which increased the speed at which anima regenerates, was implemented during a recent maintenance. The second adjustment, planned for the late-November version update, will see a significant reduction in the amount of anima required to teleport or return. To be specific, the cost for Returning will be reduced to 1, and halved for Teleportation to one of up to three "favorite" aetheryte destinations designated by the player.

Personally I think they should axe the "favorite" system and just halve the cost of teleporting to the three cities, since that's what most players are going to set their favorites as anyway.

Plus that's a change that could have been done in a single day since it's just changing a value from a 6 to 3, and a 4 to 2. But instead, they chose to make us stay saddled with an ineffective system for another full month while they put the favorites system together.

As for the cost of returning being reduced to 1, people still aren't going to use it. They're still going to use the deathport route. Finding a mob to kill you doesn't take the 4 hours it takes to regen 1 anima. Unless they add a death penalty with some sting to it, or reduce the cost of Return to 0 anima, its not going to get used.

When I contact customer or technical support, they never respond. Do you actually have either in your employment? If the answer to that question is yes, please evaluate if those employees are actually needed. This could save a lot of money. If your customers are OK with a continuation of no response from your support team, then you should not have a support team.

This was more of a solution than a question.

Another one I'd like to hear the answer to.

In last month's Message from the Director, it states...
"Message from the Director" wrote:
Party-based battle will be undergoing a number of adjustments and tweaks, but players may rest assured that we have every intention of staying true to our policy of making a game that is enjoyable for solo players as well.

Currently rank 21+ solo SP gains are very low. It goes from potentially 100+SP per gain prior to rank 20 down to 14's and 20's. Is this working as intended, or is it bugged?

If it is working as intended, how does that fit in with the intention of making an enjoyable game for solo players as well?
If it is bugged, when can we expect a fix as that is something that has never been addressed or acknowledged.

In final fantasy tactics there was the mini game or w/e where you could send a party on missions(Without you being in them) And sometimes they would come back alive sometimes not.(am i right?) I Guess what I'm really asking is if there is going to be any other minigames other than synthesis. Quests, Grinding, Trading and Bazaars are the only way I see people making money. Oh and teleporting people to other towns and such. I am a little upset I got this game, then I had to buy and build a computer to play this game, then I got into game, and its 80% done. But I still have high hopes for this game.

Pretty many questions here that are easy to answer and/or they have answered already .. for example "Why are spells so weak?"

ok, as a conjurer myself i use a maple wand, ive spezialized in wind affinity but got 40 in almost all elements. I tried out a friends gale wand (yes he let me borrow it ^^) and i did 5 times the damage .. why you ask?

look at the damage types on your weapon, maple wand got 0% in wind while gale wand got 80%. The reason conjurer is hard before rank 17 is that you cant spezialize, so get those 00k gil and buy yourself a spezialized wand, (or farm needed items and class ranks)

I actually would like to know the answer to this as well. Ever since they announced that crafting would be a main job, I have wondered at the question "why"? What is it that you will be able to do with crafting as a main job that you wouldn't have been able to do with it as a secondary profession (like it is in FFXI and many other mmos).

Sadly, the answer still hasn't really presented itself. Crafters never leave the cities or aetherites (except gatherers) and I don't see them in parties. So... I guess it's just *because*.

I'm focused on gathering mats and wind shards so I can start ranking up all of my DotH.
I absolutely LOVE the vast quantity of items that fall from the mobs... and that... brings me to my question for the Dev's. WHEN ARE YOU RELEASING THE ADDITIONAL RETAINERS FOR PURCHASE????!!!!!!?????!!!!!

With the retainers and storage space, I could just focus on gathering until the UI and lag issues are (hopefully) fixed.
