I struggle to get SP... badly.

I have a 23 MRD. I have an R20 axe. The next Axe is an R30 one. I generally get 50-150 SP a kill. The mode is closer to 80SP a kill. Once in a blue moon I'll break 200SP. Fights are generally about 45 seconds. In those same 45 seconds the THM, GLA and PUG I group with will get 200-300 SP. So while I'm doing ~3300 SP/hr they're in the 4-5000 SP/hr range. Their ranks are comparable to mine. We've been doing ants in Copperbell mines.

My R23 GLA friend said that he was having the same problem as me, until he switched a to R38 Sword.

Has anyone else noticed using a weapon out ranking them delivering better statistics or does MRD just suck narly nuts for SP?

I'm going to test Conjurer this weekend, but so far on Archer and Gladiator I have received SP on about 25% of all successful hits, with a sample size of 3000 hits. It was 10 separate tests of 300 hits on STR and DEX, and all 10 tests had a result of around 25% of all successful hits generating SP. It may be your acc that is causing you to not get as much SP.

Either that or SE hates MRD.

I'm asking all these questions is that the general feeling that I'm getting is that SE is ******** the MRDs. Checking accuracy, according to the gear stats I was at least 10-20 points above everyone else in the party... so was my attack. My build is STR > DEX > VIT (I have no MND, INT or PIE)

I would try making a larger party on some crabs or something with loads of life

We were doing crabs last night fights took between 1-2 minutes but you could almost always
cap sp to 500 per fight. If you can get into a 8+ person party. SE even stated the bigger the
pt the better the bonuses are.

And to be very very honest its so true . . .. I generally play during JP prime and finding
a fun and friendly pt is so far the best and most exhilarating experience this game is offering
at this time.

If the mechanic holds true on NM's I am stoked to do a 15 person faction NM leve
this is going to be something else!!!!!!

I have the same exact problem as you OP, I get in partys when I can but the fights only result in gaining 150+ SP at best but average around 70'ish while everyone else is gaining 300+ no problem. Its a real turn off for MRD :|

I hope SE fixes it makes it more fair.

I do hope they can balance out the SP gain some how. In our average group of lvl 28-33. our two healers gain 500 SP 4 out of 5 fights. while the Melees gain about 100-200 a fight. The healers gain 100+ SP per person they heal ever 2 or 3 casts. Want to PL a job fast, play a healer and Party. Lvl 20 > 25 in 6 hours Love it@!

I have read around these forums that weapon and gear damage can hinder SP gains. Are you partying with damaged gear? I use to and had that prob with Glad. but now I've been upkeeping my weapon and gear to see some improvements. Now I average ~300 Sp per fight for Sword, +/- for my shield SP gains, also.

Almost every pt'ed I've been in everyone has had the damaged icon. I never feel like asking how other party members SP is, unless I'm duoing.

Also, I'm 19 Glad and I was using a Rank 9 dagger. Now, I switch between a Rank 16 or 18 dagger and a Rank 25 or 27 (long day, I'm tired) Ash Matioulas (or how ever you spell it) to see an improved Sp gain, also.

I'm not sure if I'm just recognizing strange coincidence or if it's a game mechanic but....

SP amount to me seems to be Dmg related:
In a Eft grp as a lv 27 Lancer light thrust does ~20-30 damage i gain 20-50 SP for those hits.

If I use ferocity and a weaponskill it hits for ~200-270 I gain ~170-180 SP

this is constant. So it's leading me to believe that there is a direct relation to dmg done : SP gained /per hit.

I've also noticed as my weapon wears past the 50% point my SP rate/amount starts to drop.
@100% durability I would get ~40 SP for a normal attack as it would wear it would go down til i was amounting ~20SP an attack. The rate of proc also seemed to drop.
I was still gaining SP when my weapon was 1/1400000 but was gaining much slower.

SO using a weapon that is at your rank and depending on mob being fought should determine the amoutn of SP gained.

SE could have doen this to prevent Powerleveling. meaning = Beign High rank using low rank weapons to gain SP (less dmg = less SP - rank difference) or being low rank and fighitng high rank monsters (less dmg = less SP)

SO there are several things to maybe to take into account.

How much damage are you doing? less dmg = lower SP
are you using skills with enfeeblign effects? you get SP for the damage then a chance for more SP on the enfeeble.
Are the mobs resistant to your weaposn damage type? less dmg = less SP
what condition is your weapon in? below 50% = less SP

these are things I've noticed as I've been grinding. Are they accurate I'm not sure, but maybe it's worth looking into.
