am i the only one thats annoyed that theres not a set exp/sp reward for killing a monster? i find it more of a luck of the draw as when im killing the same monster sometimes i get over 200 sp and sometimes i get none, it just feels like it's all depended on luck whether or not we get sp. I don't mind some grinding but when you kill a couple for no sp at all then whats the point?

also any suggestion on where to solo around rank 16-17ish? i been doing dodos but they rarely give me more than 100 sp per fight now, i tried the moles next to bloodshore and that was even worse :(

if you're by bloodshore head over to Cassiopeia hallows.

and fight the cassiopeia's in there they are a bit harder but will give you great sp.

At that level check if there are people building sp pt's that is the best way to rank up

yeah, its unfortunately just "random skillups are random". soloing, you can get lucky and get 250+, or get unlucky and get 100 or less.

Or get really unlucky and get nothing, I love it when that happens.

I was partying as a thm with a group of LS mates a couple days ago. I got 0 sp for 10 minutes. I checked my tnl after each kill to confirm it wasn't just a text glitch.

I was healing, spirit darting, buffing. It was a party of 10 people.

This is getting really annoying. I don't mind getting low sp, but getting 0 sp is going to be a game breaker for me.

I really hope this is something they will address in one of the updates.

We should either get SP for every hit we do, or we should get one set amount per creature we kill ( increasing with creature level ). You know, just like every game out there, whether singleplayer, multiplayer, mmo, Facebook garbage, etc.

SE really does need to pick one or the other, the random crap is annoying at the least and enough to make you not want to bother at the most.

If I can look at my xp/s bar and say "okay, I need to kill 100 more of these critters to get the next level", it makes grinding a **** of a lot more bearable than "okay, I need about 100 of these critters + another 100 or 200 to compensate for the sp/xp I ain't getting, so about 200-300 more and I'll ding.Yay me:p".

I wish more people would emphasize this issue and cry out to SE. Maybe if enough of us would speak out something would happen. I've heard so many random things about wanting an AH, UI lag, sorting inventory, etc... but SP gain seriously needs a revamp! I guess I'm somewhat of a "fanboy" and have no problem admitting it. The music and artwork of Final Fantasy is unparalleled and this game really does embrace those things. But I find myself getting frustrated at the thought that arrogance and laziness is the cause for them releasing the game as is without seriously addressing the more fundamental concerns of their paying customers. I don't know what goes in to revamping systems for MMO's but if I were SE and had a launch as bad as this one, I would have a list of all the player requests, comment on which are being considered and which aren't, and list all the upcoming changes and when to expect them.

I hate to add to the list of "planning to quit" or "quitting" folks in this community but random skill ups is the game breaker for me. I'm glad I have an extra free month, great move on their part to retain subscribers, but SP gains are going to need to change before I take this game more seriously.

Even tho the SP gain is quite random, do not desit. Just need to rethink where are you xp/sp from and with who. I can tell you each time i get into a group and go to kill crabs also you need to check range of the other player. More than 5 rank of diference kill the sp. Try getting ppl from the same rank and go wild. You will see your sp coming with no problem. Yerterday did over 30k SP and thank to just 1 pt in the cassiopea crabs. Grated, all the condicion adove were meeting. The time was 2 hours and a half,(had to go town to buy arrows and back <.<).

Hope it help.

I just hope you don't believe that crap "over +5 ranks = no bonus SP". I just did 2h and a half grind on Black Eft and I gained approx 32k SP as well, with me was r28 and another party member was r18.
