Battle Regimens; What do they do?Follow

So I've been having some discussions with my LS mates, and we've pretty much come to the conclusion that we have no idea what battle regimens do. We've tried several different combination and nothing seems to have any additional effect on any mob we've tried them on. I remember that in some Q&A with SE, they briefly mentioned that BRs have to do with disabling body parts, but I've never seen that happen.

So, are BRs broken? are they just useless? what's the deal?

Currently, they reinforce a loss of faith in SE.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Oh c'mon troll, I meant besides the obvious.

...and I don't want to start a flame war, I just don't want this thread to turn into another bash SE thread like 99% of the others across all FFXIV related websites.

You queue up combinations of attack, then release. If you do a correct combination, it debuffs the monster with a specific debuff, ranging from taking increased physical damage, magical damage, and even correcting the damage of your cross-class abilities.

However they are currently either bugged, or Working as intended but frustratingly hard. In order for you to do it correctly, you must all use your regimen within a second of each other, or the last person on the list will not attack.

when you say party members must use their regimen within a second of each other, do you mean initiate the regimen? I thought only the first person to queue up their regimen had to start it. Or did you mean that everyone in the party had to add their skill within one second of the first person?

Everyone has to add their skill to the regimen.

And there was a post here called "How to succeed battle regimen 90% of the time", but my search cannot find it.

Note 90% of the time.

In answer to the OP, my opinion is that they annoy the @$%^ out of you and leave you wondering why you ever bothered.

Well you just said that that's obvious, but ok, fair enough. I was being facetious, but I can't help but think that in any other game, this would have been the kind of thing they fixed within the first month.

Check out the guide on BRs in our wiki :-) I can't provide a link on my phone...

I am in the process of trying to get them down. The above mentioned post about getting them to work 90% of the time is on page 4 or 5 (with 100 posts/page) and has been a big help so far. The wiki covers the general idea though.
