just play Conj/Thm to rank 20

from there pick one who you like the best.

get a wand instead of a 2 hand staff,so you can rank up shield along side with your main class.

best solo and in party.......thats best in both world, just cant lose.

I would say for "casual" solo, Gladiator with some healing spell is really sturdy and deals enough damage to fit the bill.
For "harcore" solo, I guess THM with gravity/dot. Most likely you will want some conjurer spells there too.

I'd say so far my CON is awesome for soloing. Leve-wise and even solo grinding, if there's no party to be had. Paired with some of the THM skills of course.

Go level all jobs to 10.

So far I have 3 cure abilitys. Helps a lot.

If my velocity starts to make you sweat, then just don't
let go

How do you effectively get MP back with conj? When do you start getting abilites to help with that?

Simply put, for DoW / DoM classes in FFXIV, you do not want to solo. Past rank 25, you will be making a fraction of the SP a group will make, and a rank that takes four hours in a group will take you literally three days solo. See the solo leveling guide 1-35, it states that outright, almost word for word.

Now, I would say get Second Wind (4 Pugilist), then level Gladiator, or pugilist.

Gladiators mitigate damage better than pugilists
Pugilist do more damage than gladiators
Marauders are kind of bad right now, being confused between DPS and tanking, but being mediocre at both
Lancers and Archers take a **** ton, and I mean a **** ton of damage.

Or you can level a healing class. If you do so, I recommend getting thaumaturge to 20 before you start conjurer for Punishing Barbs, Firm Conviction, and Siphon MP. You will not really need Siphon MP, due to tranquility and exaltation, but it is always handy. Personally out of the two, I like conjurer more, but since it is purely because of positional AoE and whatnot, the two will be almost exactly the same. If you want to use a Thaumaturge, get Conjurer to 16 for Protect and Shell. They will help out a lot.

But who says you need to level a DoM / DoW class? I think a Disciple of the Land would be perfect for a soloer. It literally is the best solo job in the game, excelling in selling materials to Disciples of the Hand to creates weapons and armors and whatnot. :).

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but I would say Fisher.

****, you beat me to it.

I started this character at the CE launch, and played for about 2 months. Haven't touched it since.

If you level CON and THM to 20, you have enough heals and buffs to make any job viable solo. Protect, Shell, Sacrifice 2, Cure 2, Absorb DEF/ACC/ATK, Shock Spikes, etc.

Of course, 90% of your action points will be occupied by CON/THM spells, but you can still solo spam "1" and SP on any job with those support abilities.

Gladiator would be decent but I don't think they'd be the best because a lot of their abilities focus on soaking damage and holding aggro.

I think Lancer is the best IMO. Speed/Life surge gives you either haste or an evasion debuff plus let's you absorb 20% of your regular attack damage as life. Also feint is one of the best abilities in the game right now, it actually makes you want to miss your attacks and has extremely low TP cost. Combine that with second wind and ferocity->blood bath->moonrise combos and you become quite durable.

I could be wrong since I haven't played all of the classes that high but those are my thoughts. I think any of the classes though, as long as you throw on second wind, cure, and blood bath, can solo quite well.

I highly suggest getting Pugilist to rank 6 for "Second Wind".
It's a healing spell, shouldn't take too long to get, should reduce down-time spent on healing between fights a little, usable with other classes and I spam the Heck out of it using my Marauder.
I wonder how many other low-rank, heal-style spells are out there that can be used with other classes.
Just my two cents, but I'm still very new to this game.
