Question (graphics) computer vs ps3Follow

Hi all, as my name would indicate I'm on the fence about getting the game. One of my questions is my computer, having a 5770 vid card with standard 4g RAM and a quad 4 processor, I understand I wont run the game on super high graphics. I am curious how powerful is the PS3 and what kind of graphics we can expect from it?

TLDR: For this game is it better to upgrade my entire computer or wait for PS3 and buy one (dont have one) and how high can we put the resolution on PS3.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

the game on PS3 is said to run at 720, and they had talked about it not being as high end as what the PC can do because PC's are ever evolving unlike consoles that are what they are when bought.

My guess is that you can pretty much count on the game looking pretty much the same as it does at 3/4 frame buffer, with textures on high, and that distance effect on (whatever it's called), probably with 2X AA, maybe 4.

Which of your options is better is up to you, do you want better as in cheaper and playable, or do you not care so much about price and want ***** your pants awesome' graphics? Chances are any upgrades you'll need to do will cost more than a PS3, but with better looking results.

if you are on the fence about the game it may be worthwhile to wait for PS3 release. I enjoy the game but even I find it frustrating.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

I would not upgrade your computer just for this game (ironically, I sort of did and am happy that I did so). If you do this and do not like the game you will spend the rest of your days trolling these forums..

It would be pointless to have AA with only 3/4 frame buffer :P
I imagine it'll have no AA at all, but full frame buffer.

Considering I've played GTA4 on both PS3 and PC, and the framerate issues I have on PS3 are not on my PC... I'd say PS3 is lagging behind a little in technology now :(

put it like this its always gonna be streaming data off the hdd on the PS3, ever play oblivion x360 or ps3 its gonna do the same thing

ffxiv can use up to 4GB of ram max on the pc, cuz there alot of stuff going on in the background and the graphics are very nice. the PS3 has 256MB of ram even though consoles use lighter API's it still will put a strain on the system.

most games are made for consoles theses days and ported to pc, but when it the other way around like ffxiv you'll notice it on games this heavy.
