ok so I've been crafting a fair deal this morning and seem to be getting some extra text after I complete a synthesis.
here is an example.

You gain 186 armorcraft skill points.
Your armorcraft skill bonus increases.
Your armorcraft skill bonus rank increases.
You gain 781 experience points.

what does the skill bonus, and the skill bonus rank mean?

It means you need to go level something else.

thats the fatigue system

Edit: SE has not said what the Bonus will give. So as of now it means nothing just less SP or exp for now.

same happened too me last night on my 28 lancer. but i didnt see a difference at all.. bad or good.
some say its the begging % of the surplus(fatigue) which i think "MIGHT" be true because about 2 hours later i started getting less skill points. but my weapon was also 1/xxxx in red so that could have been the prob.

if anything. it should say increases, should say decreases.. heh
so i dont know.

ah so that's what fatigue looks like? Why don't they just say that you're getting tired of such and such, instead of something that sounds like it's beneficial to continue.

bonus is a perverse term... but what that is is part of the SP you are earning is being funneled into "bonus" ranks which are in fact not a bonus but a penalty. Switch jobs at that point... unless you like wasting mats and SP.

Starts to sound like wasted time on the job.

I usually refer to that as Surplus.

Fatigue is where a DoL hits the wall after 2-3 hours of harvesting and starts breaking everything. Generally resets after a day.

Wish SE would do an Ask the Devs about Surplus and Fatigue.

You really think that getting 10% less sp is a reason to stop crafting? Seriously, this is just an annoyance and no reason to stop.

In my eyes this whole fatigue system is a bad idea. In the end it affects only a few people and then only as an annoyance, therefore it should be just removed.

No, I think it is a reason to switch crafts. I am not rich enough nor bored enough to waste SP and mats. I'd rather get the full SP on my crafting, and I am not high enough to bother with racing to cap.

If your lucky enough to get 500 sp every kill then the Fatugue/Bonus will affect you. SE has naver stated if the Fat/bonus takes the % of of the total from the mob you kill or from the possible 500 SP per mob.
Example: say the fatugue/bonus is at 50%( just to make the calcs real easy)

You kill the mob and the total sp you made from that mob is 400 SP. sO IF YOUR AT 50% fATIGUE/BONUS does it drop to 200 SP or 250 SP?

I have never grinded through the fatugue system, I was just wondering wheir the Fatigue/bonus sytem takes the SP from.

I don't think they should get rid of the surplus / fatigue system, I think the penalty should even be harsher so that it's actually a deterrent to grinding through it. The penalty just doesn't have enough teeth to effectuate the desired result. I do agree with you though that it only affects a small contingent of the game population.

This is the reaction of almost everyone who is actually affected by the surplus / fatigue system. The people who run into this artificial barrier are the XIV addicts logging some serious hours. (No offense intended, I'm just jealous ><) If your RL allows you to play for 5, 6, 7 hours a day, you can probably find an extra hour or so to make up for that 10% SP difference.
