Is there a faster way to switch from one LS chat to another LS chat without having to go through the menues (it can be even more frusterating when crafting, harvesting or in combat)?

TIA

Not sure if I worded question good enough . . .
I know there has got to be others who would be interested in an answer.

If someone has more than one LS and wishes to switch between them (to chat) 'on the fly' can it be done (instead of needing to go through the menu)?

for example, is there a command that you can type into the chat window similar to /tell or /p?

thank you

I'm interested in knowing the answer to this too. It's very annoying have to go through the whole menu system every time I need to talk to a different LS.

I wish you could do this also but i think you can only chat with the primary LS you have set.

Would be cool like this:

/l (L) then put the number of the ls like /l2

/l3 Yes my other LS is doing that leve. Let me ask first.
/l2 Do we have room for 2 more?
/l1 Ill be there after i do this event.
/l3 Ok, we got room for 2 more so meet up at drybone.
/l2 They will meet us there in 5 mins.

well, i've never actually tried this, since I don't belong to multiple linkshells, but wouldn't a couple of macros work?

ie,
Macro1 has the command line /chatmode Linkshell1 and
Macro2 has the command line /chatmode Linkshell2

?

yeah I would really like a system like this. I don't even know if there is a macro you can you to switch LS - I like that we can have more than one but it sucks that it is so complicated to switch them. TOO MANY BUTTON CLICKS.

I don't think you can do that since /l2 etc doesn't work

I know I had 2 linkshells for awhile and I tried various text commands to try to get the chat switched faster. I couldn't figure it out. I ended up dropping one ls since it was so much of a pain to switch around.

Maybe I misunderstood the question, but I thought the idea was being able to switch between two different linkshells quickly.

So if I belong to linkshells "Abacus" and "Bartholemew", I set up two macros. The first one is just:

/chatmode Abacus

the second one is

/chatmode Bartholemew

So if I'm sitting on Abacus and suddenly Bartholemew heats up with something I want to chime in on, I hit my macro to switch me over, say my piece, and then switch back to Abacus to continue on.

As I said, I've never actually tried to set up a macro to do this, but it should work.

I am going to try the above suggestion now that I am home and can log into the game.

None of those macros work. I don't believe it's currently possible to switch LSs except for via menu. Which sucks balls. They need to change this.

No, I disagree. If you simply type "/chatmode LinkshellName" in the main bar, you will switch - no menu required. That's why I thought the macro ought to do it, since it is a chat-based command. Perhaps if the linkshell name has spaces in it, then some fancy "" footwork might be required, as well as perhaps forcing the command to spill to /say or somesuch.

I am nowhere near the game, unfortunately. Now I'm curious if I can get this to work.
