I've stuck to duoing with my GF so far, and I'm starting to think (rightly so I believe) that traditional FFXI style EXP PTs are the way to go for leveling DoW/M so anyways I'll cut to the point:

I haven't had much experience PTing since the closed beta, and I was wondering where people exp at what levels, and at what levels EXP PTs become a significantly better choice than solo/duo/leves. We're both rank 16 GLA & CON any recommendations? I don't see anyone shouting for this level and the LFG system is clunky at best for seeking with an additional person. That being said I don't want to LFM because I have no idea where I'd go if I -did- assemble a party.

If I'm blindly missing some sort of leveling guide someone has put together please just point me there. I made an attempt to sort through the general forums but as 90% of it is just people whining it's very difficult to find any real information. Thanks!

There's two places I can think of right now for a duo at that rank. The first is near Camp Tranquil in The Black Shroud. On the upper levels there are Arbor Squirrels, Ladybugs, and Galagos that you can kill. They conned green/yellow for me at 17, and I was able to fight them until I was around 19. The second place is Cedarwood in La Noscea. There's a hill nearby that has some Fat Dodos on it. Those are harder than the Camp Tranquil spot, but if that camp proves to be too easy you can try your hand at the dodos. Also having an aether gate nearby is nice for MP recovery.

Edit: Also if you want to run full exp parties you can go to Cassiopeia Hollow near Camp Bloodshore in La Noscea and fight Cassiopeias and Sea Puks. If those are too easy you can fight crabs in La Noscea or in Coerthas to the south of Camp Glory. Go for the upper range of ranks on those, 16-19 should be able to handle it.

I have soloed and duoed my way through so far.

I soloed 18 to 20 at Coerthas as Gladiator around the entrance from The Black Shroud and also around Camp Glory.

Fighting Abour Squirrels and Antelope Does. It's usually quite quiet around there and I found the sp good.

If you like to just duo with your GF I recommend there as it's nice and relaxing, makes a change from the areas I've frequented so far and the music is nice.

Partying is certainly the way to go. As you approach 20, solo / duo becomes less and less an attractive means to SP. With the bonus SP rates increasing the more members you add, it really adds up.

If I were you, I'd head over to Camp Bloodshore and pickup 2-5 more people and head to the SE towers and do Island Crabs until your 20-22, which at that point move your party to the crabs inside Cassiopia Hollow.

That should get you going for now.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, rate ups all around.

My own experiences tonight: Seaspray Pterocs are also a good alternative just west of Camp Glory, with 4 people (Con,Con,Gla,Lnc) it was pretty good exp grinding off of those, seemed to be better than wolves/does/squirrels.

Crabs seemed to be slower when we moved to them, they took longer to kill but gave... less exp? Anglers seemed to give better exp, but be much tougher (perhaps easier with a dispel, not sure what level archer gets that.) Footpads gave REALLY good SP gains near the airship tower west of Glory but there were only 2, I'd love to find a camp to fight footpads.

My question is how do you find a party? Also, if I was to create a party what jobs/ what lvl gap should i look for? I'm a MRD and my wife is a PUG so i'm not sure what else I would need.

Well, I typically find parties by doing a shout in the city or a camp nearby if it's within the level range I'm searching for. In terms of what to look for, well you need a healer, so get a CON or THM. A tank would be ideal too, so a Gladiator. Then, as you get more people, you may need to add another healer. You've got the DD piece covered ok with your jobs.
