Being Forced to bounceFollow

I'm not going to beat on a dead horse here and state the overly mentioned issues with FFXIV, what i want to do is mentioned that I am one who loves some of the aspects of the game to make me keep playing and whats forcing me to quit. Mainly the combat system pacing compared to FFXI and the ability to play solo is what i love most. My issue now is, no matter where I turn, no matter what i try to savor, some part of the games mechanics slowly crawls under my skin making me want to bounce, quit the game, and have no plans on returning.

I have not bothered with things like the market wards because in my views its incomplete and simply got on my nerves even with the latest patch. I am a gamer if I like a product I will take what i assume is the best part of it. If I paid attention to the market wards then i would of dropped FFXIV like a bad habit a month ago. Yes yes i know what's otw that will make it better.

Next Stop the armor and weapon repair system, since I am digging the combat, after a while that crawled on me. I was like Pfff wth ever enough is enough and ignore it. I decided not to run to town to NPC and repair when icon pops, not to browse through everything I have equipped to figure what items durability has depreciated. I love games like Monster Hunter and oohh boy why in the world can I not get a "Whetstone" like item to quickly repair my gear? NO! that would make sense, stead I get to not only check each item through a still slow menu but, I must also unequip it, equip tools for the job that can repair that item and if I cant repair it, dear lord here goes the asking and begging around for someone who can repair for you. So no thanks repair system, i am leaving you alone. I've let my Brass Knuckles wear down to 1 durability now unless a party member really can and says hey why don't you let me repair that oh okay sure go ahead and thanks.

On the borderline, what was almost the last straw 2 days ago is the random SP gains and the random wiffing on the mobs. Random 1 (SP) bonus, so I am in a party all within rank and physical level range 5. Kill 1 Eft and get 500 Hand 2 Hand sp, go to next Eft get 90 sp? um wth next one sp = 200 etc... now who knows if this "fatigue" system is in effect but can it?, I play late nights 4-5hrs I go to work wash rinse repeat = at least 24hr break between playtime so I just don't get it and its annoying. Random 2 (hitting the mob), before i logged out one evening all is well I hit the mob often yes I am within rank and physical level range. The next time I logged on, it was wiff central like I was hitting the bottle hard. It was as if my accuracy mysteriously dropped 5-10 points. I was angry to say the least. And no my weapon and armor bits were not low on duribility when this happened, nothing needed repairing.

I don't plan on setting up paid subscription for FFXIV. I would be extremely happy if the Dev just took down the servers for 2-3 months, polish and do a product rebirth/re-launch **** put the servers back up when all the appropriate bells and whistles are available even if its come march if and when the PS3 version launches. So far it seems like for every bit of Joy I can find from the game, there is a counter-intuitive system in place attempting to negate that joy.

I will bite down and keep trying to hang in there and see what develops and how i feel in 2-3 weeks tops.

Well for the looks of things, I'm in for a product re-birth.

Very good point I did not think of the server take downs to have that effect.
