This... has me a bit curious... Part of me wants to criticize the whole idea but I think I'll keep those opinions to myself (ZAM has enough flame wars as it is). But I wonder if MJ's Neverland Ranch will be an area in it. Also reading the article it almost looks as if it'll be more of a MJ-themed game than actually based off him. I'd go as far to assume that you'll have items or power-ups that may deal with some of the stuff Micheal may have used in his music videos. They mention a cash shop where you can buy stuff like that.
The game will be free-to-play and not subscription-based, with revenue coming in the form of virtual items that players can purchase for their avatars with real cash (like clothes and, no doubt, single glittering gloves); Players will also have the ability to have some of their purchases donated to charities in the spirit of Michael Jackson’s giving.
If i can do super moves via dancing/moonwalking that makes the enemies dance w/ me then explode like in his old game moonwalker im sold >_>;
With the exception of being non-violent (No exploding enemies I guess.) it may be like this.
Although SEE Virtual World’s Josh Gordon explained the game and what to expect to USA today saying, “the player is more apt to succeed in a situation using song, dance, and adventure as opposed to violence.” So interpret from that what you will.
And to keep this one piece related to FFXIV: Nothing against an MJ MMO but I don't think I'd really be able to get into it. Using song and dance, especially in an MMO to face situations is a different approach but I'd still take FFXIV over it. Edited, Nov 8th 2010 4:58pm by SamusKnight
