Is there any penalties for using an armor which does not favor a particular class?
Like wearing a Haubergeon for mages?

I know that if you wear armor for a class that it's not rated for, you do not get the full stat bonuses. How MUCH less, I don't know.

Somebody out there has to have run some field tests!

All stat increases / defense ratings etc. multiplied by a fixed .6 (in addition to the rank-related multiplicators, if applicable).

So a (hypothetical) non-mage armor with a defense rating of 48 at an appropriate level would give your mage just 27 defense (rounded up from 26.8).

Thanks for the info.

Only 0.6?
Crap, looks like I need even more inventory space now.

Where is my 2nd retainer?....

HI.

Interesting posting, thanks.
But I do have another question ... kind of related to this.

I am a newbie to FFXVI, thus, the question, sorry if it's a tad dumb.

Ok. Say I have a new chest armour, level 3. It's not for one of my main
classes, specifically, THM. But it seems that it still DOES gives me a
better defense and something else than my usual Weathered Robe.

Should I wear it, no matter it's not supposed to be for my class?

Thanks.

If you were on my server I would make you something that actually does favour THM. I have tons of hempen gear looking for a home right now. You on Rab by any chance?

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

Hi, Lex!
No, sorry, I'm in Palamecia. But thanks for the offer and the tips!
Right now, I'm trying to collect muttons for the Wind Shards and the
Clothing I need. :-)
