High rank weaver looking for contracts.Follow

#1 Nov 10 2010 at 8:27 PM Rating: Decent
At the time of this post, I'm a rank 45 weaver. I can make pretty much anything, Velveteen Coifs are the only things that really give me issues anymore, and they should be ok when I level again.

A few notes about my services.

I'm going to charge you more than anyone else for something made out of canvas. I'll do it, but know you're going to be paying more for the item that the person crafting next to me would have charged you.

I don't have fixed prices when taking orders. What an item is worth to you is not the same as what it is worth to me, or the next person that wants it. Let me know what you are willing to spend on an item, and we can work something out.

After agreeing upon a price, there are no additional fees or charges. You are hiring me to make the item for you, not paying for the specific item. Because of this, you will not need to pay anything additional for HQ results.

I repair anything that I make free of charge. You simply need to come to my location, and you will receive free repairs on the item.

I accept shards and crystals as a form of payment. What I value these at changes, so I will not be putting numbers here. As a payment form, I value these higher than what market price is. For example, if I am buying Earth Shards for 200 gil each, I will give you 400 gil credit for each Earth Shard.
(numbers above are an example ^_^)

Repeat customers get discounts.

If you would like me to supply your linkshell, or setup some sort of contract with your linkshell, you will get a discount (all of you).

Send me a tell in game if you would like to purchase something.

No offense, but if you're charging people a premium to get synths done, why would people try and hire you aside from a last resort? Every time I've needed something done, or someone asked me to do something for them no money traded hands. Granted, it's been a while since someone outside my LS has made something for me, but when they did everyone was nice enough to make something for you if you brought the materials. They were getting free SP and you get your item.

Yes it's your right as a crafter to charge whatever you want since you took the time to level the craft, I understand that. I don't understand why you are blatantly telling people you charge, and charge more at that, than someone else who could just as easily do it. Are you somehow better than your "competition"?

Maybe I'm misreading this section somehow? From the way it sounds, you're advertising yourself but make it sound like this is a hassle for you so someone is going to be paying you for the inconvenience.

Rank 45+ weaver would most likely prefer to reserve their cotton yarn and earth shards for more lucrative things (like velveteen). At least that's my take on it..."If you want me to use my materials and shards on lower tier gear, you're going to have to make it worth my while."

Oh ok, I was just assuming the people were bringing the materials with them and giving them to him to make the items. If he's providing everything then disregard what I said. No reason not to charge if hes providing everything in the recipe.
