I am trying to log in and play... Starting up FFIV I get a security alert saying that the name on the cert doesn't match the name of the site... WTF is wrong with this game. Come on SE.

Sometimes can happen if your time or timezone is off on your computer.

Most SSL certificate issues are due to the end user configuration... mostly timezone related as already mentioned. Everyone would have this issue if SE was the cause.

Could be daylight savings related as well. I believe that cert authentication is accurate within 5 minutes of the systems compared time (aka if your time is off by 5 minutes from the time reported by the cert issuer then the cert will think something is wrong). This is well outside of SE's control. As people mentioned, check your timezone and also check to make sure that if you are in an area with daylight savings that you have the correct setting, and the time is correct according to your setting. Even if your time appears correct on your system, if your setting is wrong you will get errors like this.

Hardwire for the test. If you have the same issue with the cord, then the wireless factor is not involved. Although i suggest you keep the cord to call the tech support, they need to eliminate every external possible causes before they help you, they are not responsible for your network environment and configuration but might still be willing to give you a hand if you help yourself first, aka hardwireing your PC.

I had same issue a few days ago, after i updated SBIOS and time got reset. The game still popped SSL error after I adjusted time.

I then re-installed the game and everything went back fine..
