Yes, it's that time again! Goals and shenanigans, as it were. I have to go in to work for a while this weekend and stuff to do that doesn't involve gaming, but I've still got some things I'll be working towards.

It's the great inventory clear-out extravaganza! Everything must go!

5 stacks of cotton yarn!
9 stacks of iron nuggets!
Malms and malms of dodo skin/leather!

All at close-out prices!

Well, okay, not close-out prices. More, "How best can I use these bits to skill up DoH professions?" The yarn is easy; since I still can't make undyed canvas worth a ****, I'll probably turn a bunch of it into cloth and see if rank 24 weaver has an easier time. If so, glee. If not, boo.

The iron nuggets...umm. Iron squares? Then blacksmithing ranks? And armorer ranks? Lunacy? Yup.

And the dodo bits. Ugh. Tired of dodo bits. But the more bits I bust, the more I make from that delicious NPC at Camp Bearded Clam Rock. And the closer I get to buffalo bits, which is good, because I've got some combat class goals that may or may not involve decimating the wolf population of Gridania, namely:

Conjurer rank 14 -> ??? (goal is 20, but depends on how much crafting I do)
Thaumaturge rank 18 -> ??? (goal is also 20, but again depends on crafting)
Gladiator - lol Won't be time.

I won't hit half those goals. Not by a long shot, but obviously I've got plenty to do.

Your turn!

I'll be working on goldsmithing again. Probably do some leveling. I'm in no hurry to level anything, and that is why i love this game. I don't feel pressured to get to max level at all. I may even work on my other character a little. Can't wait to be able to trade items/money between the 2.

I finally got Carpenter 15 yesterday, so I can almost make Arrowwood arrow shafts! My goal is to make 16 by the weekend and then attempt some.

If all goes just as planned, I'll probably have Carpentry up to level 20 by the end of the weekend. It would certainly be nice, since it would ensure self-repairs to all my polearms up to level 30.

After that, I'm conflicted about which craft to bring to 20 next. All of them (save for Culinary) are sitting at 15 right now, and it's a toss up between Armorsmithing, Leatherworking, or Weaving.

I'm thinking Armorcraft 20 would be nice, and I definitely see it happening. I'd also like at least 1 if not 2 ranks in Marauder, but that seems less likely.

Hubby and I are going up to see my parents tomorrow to show off our new car and ultrasound pictures, so that'll be the whole day right there. We'll have other things that need to get done on Sunday as well, but I might be able to squeeze in a rank of Marauder if the parties are happening.

Just took care of one small milestone minutes before typing this up. Hitting Archer 20, now omw back to Grid to join the guild and do that quest. Along with that I'll need 2400 marks to purchase Out of Sight. With good luck on leves and a boost from exchanging that may happen this weekend.

As for the rest, lots of options. I depleted my stash of earth shards getting Weaver to 36 earlier this week so perhaps a farming/skillup run is in order. Got some DoWs sitting at 12 I could do that with or perhaps level CON & THM. Both have been sitting at 22 for an awfully long time. May be time to get those goin' again.

If I get into more crafting mode, getting LW to 20 and Alchemy to 30 would be my top priorities. No strict plans so far though...

Yeah, I'm a bit of a rare breed. I don't care for the race to end game, I just really like leveling up. I'm already excited for my next class, lancer. :)

Well, tonight I got farmed 10 fire crystals and 100 wind shards to craft with. Made a bronze dagger +3 for use on my farming gladiator. Got armorer from 10 --> 11.

I would like very much to get goldsmith from 11 --> 12 as well by the end of the weekend

i want to get to level 16 alchemist from level 13, grinding for wind shards is getting old, need to start making my own, also need to get up a few levels from lev 20 pugilist, i cant seem to find any monsters that has a decent amount of exp, there either to weak thus low exp, or to strong and kill me in 1 - 2 hits. i only get a few levequests a day for level 20, thats the only way i seam to get decent amounts so its taking a long time, im dying to see where the story goes. and for some reason everything is brutally slow for some people including me, takes ages to log in and major delays in when i craft or try anything but running, i just cant play like that, so my goals prob wont be met any time soon.

I've gotten my hands on some Fire Crystals and Earth Shards so I plan on getting Weaver 13 > 15 and Armorer 14 > 15

Then, if need be, Miner to mine up some more Earth Shards and go Miner 19 > 20

Hoping to get THM to hit 28 after spending most of last week getting CON to 20 so I can get fastcast, but need 2k guildmarks still :()

On the crafting fron I really want goldsmithing to 15 as I hope to finally be able to repair my own THM weapons and finally would love to hit 20 on my Alchemy as its the one I started at the beginning.

Got my Carpenter to 20 yesterday so I need to go to Gridania and join the guild. I want to get my wind shards back into the 1000 range after blowing so many getting Carpenter to 20. I'm going to get Blacksmith to 20 and Armorer to 18 if I can actually get some decent leves. Oh, and I'm going to get Pug to 19 so I can use my Dodoskin Cesti that have been sitting on my retainer mocking me with their inactivity.

15k sp to go to rank 50 mrd. hoping to get it tommorow, and then start focusing on clearing out my full inventory and retainer.

edit: also hoping to finish the third mrd quest, and finish the last story mission (btw the story is horrrrrrible after rank 30)

I would be lucky if I can get my Pugilist from 18 to 19...I don't know what it is, but I'm very inefficient at leveling.

Probably because most of the time, I just sit there wondering how to get rid of all the stuff filling up my bag without throwing away anything I might need down the road.

Unfortunately I'm not going to get much if any playtime this weekend. Wife talking me into going to London for a Play (but hopefully it's even half as decent as the book, Wicked).

Anyway I suppose at the very least I'll grab some leves and position myself in a location that minimizes my travel time when I do get a chance to log on. IF I'm very lucky that will be Sunday, but somehow I doubt it... I think I need to help tidy up the house...

I plan on grinding out some SP with Gladiator, hopefully meeting some new friends in the process. I will also do some fishing and may even work on Armorer a bit.

This thread is incredibly skewed in favor of crafters. There's maybe 4 posts with DoW classes, and the rest all crafting. Interesting trend and hints that there might be some truth to the theory that non-crafters seem to enjoy the game less than crafters do.

My goals for this weekend are to log in and see if I can "interested" in all this crafting buzz. Maybe the game will open up for me too.

We'll see.

I'm pretty casual. I'm happy to attain a rank a week for my archer. Hit 21 last night. Been home sick so maybe I can hit 22 this weekend.

Same as far as my ultimate goals... as long as I rank up 1x per week I don't care... almost anything is better than 1x per month-ish post 65 on THF in XI was for me ^.^

Hoping for 34 Goldsmith either tonight or tomorrow, so I can continue the main storyline. I'll probably grind my low rank Thaumaturge even though 1 -> 20 is about to get shorter, as (no surprise..) I'm in need of wind shards.

Same here, I rarely get to play during the week, so most of my playtime has to be on the weekend, and as long as I log off feeling like I've accomplished something (rank up, make some tools or something to sell, gathered crystals/shards) I'm quite happy. No need to rush to the top when you're enjoying the ride!

Edit: WOO! 500 posts!
