Ok so i did my 8 leve's at the nub camp this morning, took about 2-3 hours... now i go back to town to try and pick up some more leves for the next camp im going too and i cannot exchange them.../

plz tell me that there is a way to get more than 3-4 hours of actuall gameplay in (without just having to go farming for minerals). or can i really only do 8 quests every day and 1/2. im not sure how u are supposed to progress in this game at that rate.. will take a few months to accomplish anything.

so wiki says u can only do leves over again every 36 Realtime hours. so with the fact that u cant just go farm mobs for exp because after u kill about 4 u get no more skill points and only a little exp. and with the ability to only do 8 quests (wich only take about 2-3 hours) every 36 freaking hours (day anda half!!! (>.<) ) im suposed to just farm for the other 32 hours before i can progess again.?

That is correct, the Leves reset every 36 hours. what you can do is try and join a party to help other with their Leves or grind in a party against Mobs that are higher in Rank. Not sure what you mean by only getting SP from four, I have grind for hours and gotten good SP/XP.

It's the whole world. Exciting, isn't it? Doesn't it just make you anxious to login and play?

It is 8 Regional Leves and 8 Local Leves world wide, so going to a different city will not allow you to get more.

FFXIV is not a game you want to solo to rank up. Leves stop giving any decent SP after rank 20 or so. You're pretty much forced to party grind after rank 20.

If you want solo SP, go grind Ewes at Limsa until rank 10, followed by puks until rank 14ish.

Then I'd suggest starting to party at Mun Tuy until rank 22, first killing Opos and then killing Cellar Puks with a small group. It's really the fastest way you can rank up.

The reason why leves have a 36 hour cooldown isn't because they want to stop you from getting SP, it's to prevent inflation. Guildleves are really the only way DoW/DoM make money, and it's a **** of a lot of money (25k * 8 leves = 200k/reset, even more if you leve-share/leve-link due to treasure chests). And you guys complained that money was too easy to get in this game, by removing levetimers, it'd be even worse.

You didn't mention if you did crafting leves and if not I highly suggest you do so. Crafting is a great way to increase your physical level as well as earn extra cash on the side.

What you're going to want to do is stop and pay attention.

Ready?

There's no mechanic in the game right now that causes you to suddenly stop gaining SP after a few mobs. Even if you hit fatigue (which you most likely did not) you aren't going to go from earning SP to suddenly no SP. The SP system is random, meaning you'll earn tons from some mobs and none from others even if it's the same mob type at the same rank. You just need to be a bit more persistent and instead of seeing no SP from a mob or two and throwing in the towel saying it sucks, git yer *** back to business and keep going. Others in this thread have told you so and you're bloody ignoring them, so knock it off and read. We don't need any more stubborn, half informed people running around not understanding what's going on and still saying the game sucks. Inform yourself. Pay attention to the answers you're given to the questions you ask.

You're not intended to progress exclusively from leves unless you're of the extreme casual variety. You've also got 8 local leves (Crafting) every 36 hours along side the regional leves (battlecraft/fieldcraft). During the week when I've got a more limited time to play each evening, I'm frequently hard pressed to get all of my leves done before the reset. Weekends are a bit easier...I can do my leves and have time left over to grind this or craft that.

There's nothing stopping you from progressing once your leves are done. Just don't be in such a rush expecting all kinds of SP from every mob. It balances out over time, especially at lower ranks.

By the r23, the leves starting to get longer to do. As in, you have to travel in all three cities to search for the right reward, mainly the item reward and the cluster, and it takes longer to travel to the camps as well. By the r33, it's even longer, and if you choose to do crafting leves along with Battlecraft leves, you won't find much time to do anything else. It's rather nice that the leves lead you to the Camp suitable for your level, and if you already have a party doing leve, after your leve you can choose to grind there. That's how the game holding your hands. I've been missing out a lot of battlecraft leves lately and every time I go grind for a bit is the time I forfeit even more leves. In fact, I would rather them to go back to 48 hours cycle like in Beta, less of the current pressure.

Anyone else notice the OP seems to jump from one main troll forum reason to the next. I think this is a troll in disguise, sorry if you are not OP. Also, you shouldn't hit fatigue on any job no matter what in 3-5 hours, it takes days. So you can not be possibly close to accurate...

Again, sorry if you are legitimate, but stop the bs trolling please, have a great day...

Once your out of leves to do, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from going out to kill things to level, craft things to level or harvest things to level, talk to other players meet new people and make new friendship ... You know, like any other mmo...

I never quite understood the reasoning behind people complaining that they've done all of their leves and have nothing to do for 36 hours.....

I don't know, howabout you uh... play the game? Do people seriously need a "to-do list" to enjoy themselvesnowadays?

yes actually.
from my own opinion and every gamer i currently know IRL want to go out and kill stuff, they want the ability to constantly progress BATTLE CLASSES. they meet people doing DUNGEONS (which doesnt only include endgame, even wow and aion had some dungeons on release) which allows them to join new guilds and stuff. battling is and has always been the main focus of MMOs, not chatting over tea and crumpets.
i personally cant wait for NMs to come around so i at least have SOMETHING to do for a short while other than grind the same **** mobs for weeks.

I have gotten used to the current leve system. I am surprised though that an alternative style of leveling isn't available via leves for when you can't find an party that you are awarded exp/sp for successful completion of a quest/leve.

I don't like that the only method of decent advancement thats not snail paced is partying grinding. This style limits when you can and can't play basically opting to maximize your play time around advancement instead of being able to casually pick up or put down the game.

Personally I'd have gil oriented leves for repairs/upgrades as the current system is, and provide additional leves to fill in the gaps for lack of parties or create party only leves along with these, which sole purpose is to award exp/sp. So after your team has invested X hours it still awards good exp/sp for the whole group and not be contingent upon only using X ability or being Y class to earn some magical SP/HR figure.

I'm sure a lot of people will say, I'm happy with the current system and i don't want to rush it, but by and large alternative content and more options are only better in my opinion provided that one system isn't hands down the better way, because then it just invalidates the other modes of progress.

Leves are almost completely worthless 30+, a pitance of coin/marks/random gear, and worthless exp/sp. If they were more consistant or you could choose from a random selection of rewards, something that atleast provided the illusion of control would be better than the current system.

Lets not even touch crafting leves which still show level 1 leves at 25+ which is beyond silly to me. They should be tiered like the battle leves so we can focus on advancement and not be littered with worthless leves we traveled 30m-1hr to discover.

Plenty of stick, more carrot please.

Pretty sure it was 8 every 48 hours in beta. Leves aren't really meant to be the core gameplay. In fact, I'm pretty sure they added them so the casuals would have something to do. If you play more than a casual player, you might have to explore, behest, craft, grind, do class missions, do main missions, level other jobs.

These what do I do in this game questions remind me of the Can't make money in FFXI.. how do I make money in FFXI questions.

Well, bcnm, ksnm, craft, farm, hunt NM, isnm, etc. etc. etc.

If there were no leve lockout at all, wouldn't that create zero pressure? The leves would always be there, you wouldn't have to worry about making sure you did all your leves for each window. You could just log in when you wanted, and enjoy playing how you wanted to play. Limits like the leve system just create frustration and turn a lot of people away.

I still remember the first time i ran out of leves to do... It was pretty disappointing. "Oh, doing those leves only took me an hour... now what do i do? :/"

It seems like a lot of people on these boards are against taking away the current limits on the leve quest system, but why?

Dude u all are still rageing on this thread... ? ive figured out the anser to my Q's and Complaints long ago..
its turns out it was just a problem in choise of mobs to kill. i did take me over 2 hours te get to lvl 4 con tho. so this whole random factor of getting SP had been whooping my Rear.

i have gone back to partying with my bro and killing dodo's to pass the time and its still aginst me. hes getting about 150-250 Sp for his lancer each kill where im getting 80-120 per/kill. we both same lvl.

we also tried something new hes lance but has cure from Con and Pug so i fight and he heals he got 350 SP (For Pole-arm) by just healing me and i got about double the SP i normally get because it took me forever to kill.
tho the prob with this is we both run outa mana real fast and have to stop and wait for crystal to CD to refresh us

so to end Thank u all for your comments tho it seems like the troll accuser just was starting a troll thread anyways.

Because the only reason people want the lockouts removed is because they think that if SE removes them, they're going to be able to progress faster. SE isn't likely to tune the trip from 20-50 to be any faster than it currently is. They're most likely going to try and smooth out SP gain. And if you removed the lockout so that people had unlimited access to all the leves they wanted just done over and over again only without the gil or the Guardian's Favor boost, they'd soon realize that it's just a whole **** of a lot easier to go set up a camp or a roaming party somewhere and get stuff done that way.

Not even two months in and people are complaining that it's taking too long to get to the cap and trying to rationalize all manner of changes so they can sally forth onwards to nothing with all deliberate speed. Then they'll hit the cap. Then they'll be all like, "WTF SE NO ENDGAME?!?!" And we'll be like, "Told ya so" and they'll be all like, "WTF SE WHY U RELEASE UNFINISH GAME NO ENDGAME WTF I CANCEL GDI WTF U SAID AWESOME NO ENDGAME WTF WHY F U SE STUPID GAME WTF."

Kinda like they do now about everything else. We don't need to give them any more WTF fuel.

You can do 8 regional and 8 local leves every 36 hours. As for your 4 mob kill thing... I dunno you're doing it wrong or something. You can kill mobs solo or in a group all the way untily ou hit surplus exp... which takes a while.

This game isn't about to just hand you anything tho. That seems to be what you want.

other mmo's you can become a GOD in 2-3 weeks, thats why they say that. bet they didnt play ffxi or even ffxi in the old days. well for the no end game part i think SE thinks people have a life and wouldnt hit cap yet, thats why they didnt add end game yet even if it was ready it will most likly be lv75+ not lv50.

you get alot of SP if you kill red(IT) mobs, if you cant your phys lv is too weak.

I understand where you're coming from. But i really don't think this is the reason. I want the lockout removed simply to have something to do while progressing my character.

The grind system worked in XI because there was more to do otherwise (even from launch), and a reason for leveling up. In XIV it's not working because there is literally zero reason (from what i've seen) for you to improve your character. Having the leve system at least gives you something to do in the short term that will progress your character.

There are no missions/quests outside the leve system where you need/can to form a group and kill something (from what i've seen anyways). And not having anything like that at least until rank 20+, means that most people are soloing.

Having such a rigid 8 leves per restart makes it inconvenient for players to form groups for them. Without real missions or other quests i believe the leve system needs to not have a lockout. Not because i want to progress faster, but because i want more micro-goals ingame, and see more players interacting with each other.

Basically, grinding just to grind gets old quick.
