Anyone know if there's more than meets the eye with the Onion Doublet? It's rank 1 optimal, unique and untradeable, yet falls from rank 20 faction leve quest. Has to be more to it....

Probably has something to do with the craftsmanship on it.

It matches the Onion Helm which was an exclusive item for the CE.
That's about it.

From what I've seen, the onion set has pretty good stats for lvl 1 gear and is good for all classes.

So if you can get the set from leve drops, they will be useful for leveling other jobs maybe 1-10.

Saves you having to get new gear when leveling new jobs.

There are some pieces of gear from faction leves (Frayed items for example) which are used as ingredients for higher level synths. I have a hunch we might see something like that with the Onion Doublet in the future, if it's not already there, undiscovered.

I love my onion doublet. It has decent crafting stats - good body peice for early levels.

I've collected the whole set, but don't wear it. It just sits on my retainer lookin' pretty. Perhaps I'll use it when new classes are released...

It varies, you just have to check with each leve reset.
